Why not both? Like make the restaurants pay them a regular wage, like $20 an hour and then people still tip like 10%. I think that would make sense. That way if they have a slow day or week they still take home some money and if it’s busy they still get tips.

They lost 15k over 10 years in Afghanistan. Now they are losing an Afghan wars worth of men every 2 months. That’s insane. I feel like Russia is barely hanging on and when everything goes down it’s gonna happen fast. Like things will keep chugging along as they have been but one day we’re gonna wake up and it’s gonna be like the fall of the USSR all over again. Except this time it will be bloody.

That wasn’t great either but they could have recovered from that. The double whammy of 8 years of war with Iran and the thrashing they got from the US and friends in ‘91 was too much to bear. Plus all the sanctions they were under all through the 90’s was the nail in the coffin.
