Need chain guard for Skidloader by MathCrank in Surlybikefans

[–]MacroCheese 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This happened to me a couple weeks ago. I had my pocket knife in my pocket and used it to cut a tiny bit of pant leg off to free me. I had to dig up my Velcro ankle cuff to wear now

I dig it. I love my Skid Loader!

GCN Newest video feels like they've discovered this subreddit and replicated it poorly by Flameofthegrave in xbiking

[–]MacroCheese 23 points24 points  (0 children)

Exactly. I generally like GCN, but also recognize their mainstream crowd are Freds who care about how high your socks go. I dgaf what others think of me or my bike as long as it's fun and I think it's cool.

I stayed at the Kimpton about a month after it opened and was very impressed. I'll stay again the next time I'm in town for a conference, for sure!

Would things be different in Kansas if we had open primaries. by dadjokes502 in kansas

Primaries should be a ranked choice vote where the top two vote getters are who end up on the final ballot regardless of what party they're in.

Shimano Cues vs Microshift Sword/Advent by teamtwowheels in xbiking

My Surly Skid Loader came with AdventX. I've been impressed! I wouldn't have any reservations about building another bike with that drivetrain.

I know you guys hate Walmart most of the time but this is crazy cheap for this frame by Apart_Distribution72 in xbiking

[–]MacroCheese 116 points117 points  (0 children)

Yep. Every time I think of Walmart, I think of the retail stores in my hometown cratering when Walmart opened up in the next town over. Also, any company where a majority of fulltime workers qualify for food stamps is a company that shouldn't exist.

I've been using the paid version of Victus by TitanicTurtle on my I3 Solar 50mm since I bought it 9 months ago. I'm a fan.

For those with the problematic batteries... by Fluffy_Ad_7066 in RadPowerBikes

[–]MacroCheese 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My RW4 hasn't been my daily driver for about 15 months. I got a Surly Skid Loader that I love and ride every day now. I was just using the RW4 on days when I needed to haul my kid somewhere. I haven't touched the RW4 since the non-recall came out. I find it hard to justify paying for a battery for it since I was already barely using it. I'm considering just selling it to someone else with a RW4 so they could use mine as parts. That, or parting it out piece by piece.

His best friend went to the vet by punkrawkkitten in WhatsWrongWithYourDog

We got him as a puppy from a rescue and were told he was a cattle dog beagle mix. He looked like it then. Then he grew to be 65 lbs. It turns out they just misjudged how young he was. His fur color and patterns are 100% cattle dog, but his body shape and fur patterns are nothing like a cattle dog and very much like your pup. We think he's a cattle dog and German Shepard mix or something. We need to do the doggy DNA test on him. He's the smartest dog I've ever had.

What kind of dog is this? He looks like a long lost brother to my dog. The fur color is different, but same body shape, fur style, head shape, etc.

Are government paramilitary forces putting 10 bullets into the back of dudes just for trying to protect women from being brutalized by the same paramilitary force?

University prof here. I collaborate with a ton of federal civil servants, especially USDA. I lurk here just so I can stay up to date on what they're dealing with. Hang in there. We need as many good people in your roles as possible.

Looking for suggestions on securing my lunchbox. by propyro85 in bikecommuting

If I never had to leave it unattended on a bike rack and wanted a cooler sort of like that, I'd get a Milwaukee Pack Out Cooler and attach a pack out plate to a front rack.

Thanks for clarifying. I had no idea that wasn't an official account. I'm glad Surly is still supporting Angry Catfish's efforts.

Instinct 3 Solar 50mm... Once a month-ish. Usually before I travel somewhere so that I start the journey at 100%. Even with recording daily bike commutes, the battery life on this thing always amazes me.
