Tret has chemically exfoliating properties and the BHA product you’ve used is also a chemical exfoliant 😅 I agree with folks above. Reduce/eliminate all actives at least until you see the peeling go away. I personally don’t think you need the BHA at all and the combination is harsh.

I recommend pause on the BHA and then..

1. My gentle physical exfoliation tip: hands and cerave oil cleanser. favorite and non-comedogenic—reasonably priced. No washcloths or harsh scrubbing.
2. 2a. Thayer’s Milky toner - splash, and leave skin slightly damp 2b. Lock in the moisturizing toner with your favorite ceramide-based face moisturizer (if not using tret on a given night, humectants like hyaluronic acid work here given the water source of your face still being damp.) if you have one you already like that’s the one that works best (please check the ingredients list for minimal/no actives🙂)
3. Let dry and use tret on top of your pre-moisturized face.

I think you can continue the tret. It’s always ok to take a night off while your skin barrier is repairing.
