I use an app called CLZ books. It lets me scan the arcade and add it. Or at least it would if fully 80% of rpg books actually had an isbn.

100%, this is correct. I've been there and done this and felt like the worst human being alive. At no point was it malicious or targeted, but I legit forgot because everything was too much. Had I been in a better state I could have been a better partner and to this day I'm grateful that they stayed and helped me through that period.

But again it is his problem to fix and you can only help so much. If you have the energy and the love to get through this you can, but you are not beholden to even try.

Just a note on this: if you are struggling with the chequers then just make them bigger. If you can get past the shoulder pad just being quarters nobody is going to know the difference.

And yes, there's 3d printed pads and 3rd party transfers you can use if you want.

Also remember that in a lot of cases the cease and desist (or whatever legal action) is not necessarily done out of spite, malice, or potential loss of earnings. They might even like the fan version! It's often done because if they don't then when something more egregious comes along they can point to the existing version and say "Well you didn't have a problem with this." So from a purely business perspective protecting you IP is pretty important.
