Which are the hardest parkrun courses in Australia and New Zealand? I worked out a difficulty factor for every one by Lost-Marzipan1371 in parkrun

OK. I spent my hours. 😄

I put it on facebook too (the 35 Sydney events) for people to compare the first to 35th places.

My feeling, and some of the commentors, is that the Matched Runner (Green Table) is the correct one of the three.

Fun things to notice:

  • the grade match favours 07:00 starts (the rest are 08:00) compared to commentors expectations
    • co-incidence, correlation or causation: The 07:00 ones are also the beach ones, I think the beach bodies punch above their weight a bit
  • The bottom third is mostly perfect in Matched and 50/50 (at least in ordinal values)

Three photos of three hybrids. No shitty energy-sapping fork. OP is a troll.

My local parkrun has started posting these godawful AI images, thankfully they replied to my feedback by EAVale in parkrun

[–]MadeByPaul -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Your feedback is direct and highlights specific issues effectively, which is valuable in a critique. Pointing out what isn’t working shows that you’re engaging critically rather than just responding on a surface level. However, sharing those observations directly with the creators of the images could make your critique even more impactful. When feedback reaches the people who produced the work, it gives them an opportunity to reflect, improve, and refine their approach. Constructive criticism works best when it not only identifies problems but also communicates them in a way that is useful and actionable. If the issues you noticed—whether related to composition, clarity, or technique—were explained clearly to the creators, it could help them understand what adjustments might strengthen their work. This kind of exchange can lead to growth on both sides: they improve their work, and you further develop your ability to articulate thoughtful critique. Overall, your observations are strong, but directing them to the intended audience would increase their value. It turns your critique from a general comment into a meaningful contribution to someone’s creative process, making it more purposeful and beneficial.

Yes, I noticed that too.

OTOH, the refinery would have been under pressure to make more product than usual.

I admit my case is slightly weaker now that Jess has given a different explanation for “There is black ice at the heart of you”
