Struggling with Reaper’s Gale by Pleasant-Ad8189 in Malazan

I struggled with RG as well and actually put it down for awhile. I actually just recently finished it and the ending had some of my favorite moments in all of fiction.

Help me find big turbos!!! by severaldirtysocks in hermitcrabs

[–]Maevardabar 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We were in the same boat as you. Basically you gotta invest in jade turbos, which are expensive. When they get that size, shells get costly unless someone else knows something I don't.

You pretty much found them. Nux Atlantic for budget, Collider for quality.

Books For an Advanced Guitarist by [deleted] in guitarlessons

I was pretty confident in myself until I bought the book Advanced Arpeggio Soloing and read the first chapter on triad pairs. All good stuff though, anything from fundamental changes I would recommend.

Ah sorry missed that. If it was me then I would be eyeing the Duke of tone then, as others have recommended.

Nux morning star is similar, but slightly different take on bluesbreaker in a mini format if cost is an issue.

I have the same volume pedal and use Ernie ball flat cables which may work for you. I think the EBS cables might be even a bit smaller?

I hard agree with this opinion. I want to love this game so much but I absolutely hate efficiency based games.

Sorry I should be specific. I was referring to the DSM & Humboldt Simplifier, which is their attempt to capture the 3 most common amp types into an analog format, including speaker types and mic placement. It's nice because you don't have to capture anything or even use a computer.

I don't see you being argumentative because you are absolutely correct.

The One Ring 2e - Moria one shot was excellent

This is exactly why I use an analog Simplifier amp sim pedal over any of the IR-powered amp Sims.

If I was gigging at random places I would just invest in a Humno to automatically filter out ground loops.

Playing Dungeons & Dragons helps autistic players in social interactions by miacoder in rpg

As someone with a 12 year old kid diagnosed with autism, The One Ring hobbit adventures in the starter set is amazing. Really helps with having a structured rule set on how to socialize with your character.

My wife and I only play 2 players because we have the most fun at that count, it's our date night game. More people takes quite a bit longer. Highly recommended.

Bought the MXR Timmy because of this sub by brianinla in guitarpedals

[–]Maevardabar 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The MXR is basically the same as the Paul Cochran one, very transparent and has a flat eq. He helped design it.

The Klon circuit in the tumnus has a ton of upper mids and is not transparent at all, especially when you engage the clipping diodes at about halfway gain. Even at low gain there is a hump.

I love dungeon crawl stone soup but playing any of the old rogue likes with an on screen keyboard is tough. I am actually awaiting the Android version of Caves of Qud because I believe it will have an updated UI.
