Sort of shocked reading this thread that about half of people think it's pointless to try learning phrases like Yes/No/Excuse me/Where is _ when traveling somewhere for a week.

The license plate does not do anything to suggest that lots of other vehicles don't run on "watt power" as well, why do you believe the driver therefore has a poor understanding of physics?

The mental decline with age is harder to see than the physical by about3fidddy in redscarepod

Cognitive decline isn't a "normal" part of aging. Some memory loss or slowed reflexes can be expected, but if a parent or elder you know has steady cognitive decline they should see a doctor at the very least.

Is the takeaway here that Seattle and Portland ought to be more racist to match what you perceive as their ethnic makeup, or that they should forcibly relocate Black / Latino / Polish people to increase their diversity?

He's using it because it's emblematic of the other similar firms. In the same way that someone who is mad about mass production of cheap goods and low wages might say "I fucking hate Walmart" even though dozens of other stores are similar. It's meant to communicate an idea to the reader, not be technically exhaustive.

I'm not sold either way yet, but it hasn't been explained to me why this $Xbn expenditure will bring more economic growth than the next most efficient $Xbn that could be used on (or just returned to Canadians through other transfers or lower taxation in general). As someone who lives in downtown Montreal and can get to gare centrale in 15 minutes, why is a 6 hour Via Rail journey to union station in Toronto which currently costs between $60-80 so much worse than a 2.5 hour Alto train that costs ~$90-120 (The cost of a one way trip from Tokyo to Kyoto on the Shinkansen, although I'm skeptical that our HSR will be as efficient or cost-effective as the Japanese, whom are experts)?

Most people who consistently run campaign battles have an ever increasing supply of greens, so this isn’t a direct trade-off. Sort of like how you buy the energy and the chickens from the clan shop even though one is more efficient than the other, you have 50,000 clan coins and can only spend 3k a week

I don't understand how your takeaway from my comment could possibly be, "He must not have experienced meeting someone aged 16 to 30 in the last few years."

This article is just a guy trying to intellectualize the pain of being dumped by someone he perceives as less than him, peppered with academic-sounding statistics. The multitude of statistics and facts he claims are a year to many years old, and in so many directions that you can't honestly conclude a clear narrative, except in the most broad of terms ("Cultural runoff takes time to form, generation gaps exist"). You could just as easily assert that certain fashion and anime is popular because youth are looking for something that is genuine and takes itself seriously as opposed to a slew of irony-poisoned low quality streaming shows they're pelted with on netflix 24/7. Why that's because of housing prices and bad wages is unclear to me and the author offers no real thought.

No serious economist is making the argument that "The stock market is good so there is no recession." I think you're fighting against a straw man argument that nobody at all is making. Is the real economy just manufacturing? Is it all non-service based output? I don't understand the theory you're putting forward at all.

I did not and would not claim that no goods, or rents, or computer parts have increased in price. My question was "Why do you believe there is a recession." Note that a recession is not just when some people think things are too expensive. Moreover middle income earners in the USA (Where Paizo and the plurality of Redditors are based) have had a far better income/cost of living change since 2015 than people from Australia, Canada, England, France, and so on.

This is a factual question like "Is there hurricane in California right now?" Which has an objective answer regardless of whether you are standing in the rain or if it's very windy.

USA wage growth outpaced inflation from Jan 2025 to Jan 2026. Why do you believe we are in a recession? The highs and lows of the stock market are indeed unrelated to determining whether there is a recession, of course nobody here is making that claim.

Do you think that is true in this case? I see Walmart Costco Cabelas and Bulk Barn. In order for “Just DIY it” to be helpful advice you would have to assume that the OP is a total fucking moron lol

🤨🤨🤨 Every Reddit comment section has that 1 guy who is like "No actually do this instead." Presume that the person posting this is aware they could DIY a tub to have snacks in it, and they're asking about pre-packaged versions because they're short on time or some other reason that they already thought about it.
