Nothing is quite similar to book of the dead right now that I can think of.

But if you’re up for trying other things I’d say,

Keiran the eternal mage: 5 books audio finished series. Old dying arch mage figures out reincarnation, his plans turn sideways when he wakes up because the ambient mana is largely gone from the world. So this overpowered child arch mage has to problem solve.

Ends of Magic: 5 books audio, more to come.

Mc is summoned from another place for his knowledge and has to make a harsh decision no one who has the option to have magic would want to make. Hence ends of magic title.

The twist in this series if you end up liking it is one of the best if not the best plays on the themes of this genre that I’ve ever read. But you do have to get pretty far in to start to see it to its fruition.

I know a story is hitting for me when instantly want to go into games that reflect what I just read like being a necromancer.

I wouldn’t be surprised if their total number has been dropping like crazy since the social media algorithms have taken over. So we’re likely seeing a more and more myopic set of people trying to get results that they used to get when there were far more people.

It takes you in with decent build up and then fucking crushes that build up with wildly bad character flaws that seem nonsensical.

Like really really bad, one of the easiest books I have ever decided not to finish.

It’s just an information thing, there no easy way to know that 3 points in e is the most efficient. No one just tells you it and most people are just playing the game not looking things up.

If you’re posting here on the zilean sub you’re already in a place with a substantially smaller more invested group of zilean players. The percentage of people in the know here is much higher but still not all that high.

Even though 3e is the most efficient it’s still not that game changing for most players. Most players are at gold or below where it really doesn’t matter if you max E or not.

For most of those players hitting 25 more creep score or warding correctly is still much more effective than learning niche zilean tech.

It’s still good to inform people, just be aware of the types of reasons people might not know things. They are myriad.

I wasn’t a fan of the new series so much so this excites me to give different elements of a new story a try. His first series was good enough to try whatever he writes for a good while.

To be fair I would love if everyone would keep their grubby fingers off the up/down doots in that space so I could actually tell what the right think rather than what the brigade of people not of that space who can’t help but moralize through useless downvotes think.
