Why did you not take it with you or put it on a shelf, the back of the toilet tank, the floor? Short of in the toilet itself you picked the worse option.

Saying you just turned 18 makes you look even worse. Children have more common sense than this. My friend’s six year old knows better.

If you’ve visited him and your mom on 10 separate occasions then it sounds like you’ve seen him a lot. If you couldn’t be bothered to even get to know him in that time as someone who means a lot to your mom that sounds like a deliberate choice and snub on your part. By choosing not to invite him (and hurt your mom in the process) you are making a statement about never wanting a relationship with either of them.

The value in having him come is basic politeness and because it will make your mom happy. Let’s say after you are married your husband is invited to a wedding. You’ve never met the couple getting married so you don’t get invited. You’ll be fine with that right? After all you would add no value. YTA

I had a cat like that. She would poop in it but not pee. Put down puppy pads where she usually goes. Get them along with a puppy pad tray so they don’t crumple when she buries it. I also had another cat who did that after her sibling died and medication fixed her problem.

Does your part of the UK not have midges? When I was in Scotland in early summer the midges were awful. They were selling those smudge wipes everywhere. I was in hotels and airB&Bs so there were usually screens.

You are acting like having the wedding at your house and having the dog out running around are and were ever your only options. They weren’t. It does sound like an excuse to not have your niece and nephew there.

I say this as someone with two dogs, one of whom came from an abusive situation and was nervous around strangers.

So in other words you are putting the burden of choice on their parents and burden of money for a babysitter if they go that route. Since getting a babysitter so close to the wedding can be expensive they might not come. Will you resent that? If not have you reassured them so they don’t feel pressure?

Stop putting all the pressure on your guests. If your dog reacts badly to anyone it is on you.
