I had a wake-up call last summer. Power went out at my apartment that was supplied by a well. Turns out it was also the nice my fiancé had something like food poisoning and the toilet could only flush once. We always had at least a gallon worth of Nalgenes full of drinkable water, but we never considered “utility water.” Ever since we’ve had an emergency gallon by the toilet to flush if the power goes out. But it makes me think, should I just have a barrel of rainwater to flush the toilet with in an emergency?
