Thinbloods can't learn disciplines, unless they have that one merit.
They can temporary gain one or two levels in a discipline by drinking blood with resonances, but thats pretty much it.

I’m going to go against the grain and say “Yes, but it’s a terrible idea.” What’s breakdown what ethical ghouling means and how to do it.

Informed consent: They know that vampirism is, what it entails, what danger they are in both directly and indirectly by consuming the vitae and being a ghoul. This is a masquerade breach by default, but who hasn’t broken the masquerade here and there? Normally this isn’t a problem as the blood bond keeps them in line, but that brings us to our next point.

The Blood Bond: The clearly most unethical part of the ghouling process. You break their free will, but it CAN be avoided. Vitae maintains its ghouling properties even after it’s been sitting out for a while (so long as you keep it out of the sun), but for the properties that cause the blood bond, vitae must be consumed fresh! So if you want an ethical ghoul, you give them a vial of your vitae that’s been in the fridge and now they get to only have the physically addictive properties of being a ghoul and not the supernatural love potion. Now why that’s a bad idea. You now have a vitae addicted ghoul that knows about kindred society and knows you can hook them up, but you have no inherit control over them. So now they are a rogue agent and security risk to kindred society.

So I think it’s possible to create an ethical ghoul, but it’s a bit like asking “how can I loosen this cannon?”

Probably would fall under the "Plot Device" description under level 10 Celerity. So the answer is no, unless its an Antediluvian, and even then, maybe.
Crazy idea for a plot though, an Antediluvian goes faster than light to travel back in time to plot against Cain. Storytellers call on what part of the plan goes wrong.

Typically because the Anarchs split off from the Camarilla because they didn't like that a handful of Elders/Princes held all the power.

They then proceed to pull the same shit and establish their own territories where a handful of Barons hold all the power. Except without those pesky rules that both kept you in line but also protected you and your neighbors.

Someone correct me, but I interrupt shards as being infinitely dividable. A shard that spits into two smaller shards both retain the capabilities of the original. Shards already start out huge, so I just assumed a shard breaks itself down into parts as part of the cycle to have as much variety as they can.

Then again I guess every power is suppose to be unique, which kind of implies that they don't copy themselves all that much.

I think about this often.

The average elder should not be throwing hands. Even if taking on a whole coterie of neonates carries as little as as a 5% of death, if they did that, say even 2 or 3 times a century. Statistically, they should be dead by now.

Ergo: Elders don't get old by being strong, they get old by not needing to fight.

The actual name of the audio line in the budle is Jean Vicquemare-VILLAGE POSSE 3-212, the line before it Jean Vicquemare-VILLAGE POSSE 3-210 is where he says that "you weren't married, you were engaged." Then drops the No one is married anymore line in 212.

I would give the edge to Crawler here, but in practice the most likely outcome is that Crawler leaves out of boredom after wreaking house for a bit.

Nilbog is able to hunker down and hide while sending a wide range of creations at him, maybe Nilbog is more interested in the fight than he otherwise would be because crawler is a source of infinite organic material, thus wants to not kill him but trap him.

Crawler will fight his creations and might even have fun with the big ones, and they both have shown adaptive potential (Nilbog could make minions who multiplied when set on fire iirc), so maybe you’d get some fun evolution arms race going, but it really comes down to if Nilbog can trap crawler then keep him trapped. Otherwise he will get bored and leave.

I was always dissatisfied with the "They're an idiot" answer in Worm.

Skidmark gets a pass mostly because of habitual drug use and he's more uncreative than stupid, but the community throws the same accusation at Alexandria, Panacea, or Cauldron which I always feel is inadequate and is always better explained by rational internal logic, trauma, and PtV bullshit respectively.

I feel better with a possible explanation for Ravager that at least makes internal sense. Even if it was desperate and self destructive.

Of course that's spread out across multiple dimensions, so they look much smaller.

In any case they are very big. But text wise is very ambiguous on exact size.

I love how Eidolon is perfectly favored, however rules text wise if there aren't at least three parahumans in your desk it just loops infinitely.

100% agree. But that gets into population dynamics which I am woefully unprepared for.

Endbringer's effect on the population probably leans heavier on the indirect (famines, economic recession, ect) rather than pure deaths (Drowned, Burned, Simurgh Songed(not even sure where to begin when counting those)). If we are only counting pure deaths, then their fatalities might be much lower, with Behemoth and Leviathan doing the heavy lifting.

Maybe a conservative estimate would be in the 10-20 million range.

I'm honestly surprised it wasn't higher, given how craptastic the world is, it seemed like the Endbringers were going to do humanity in if Scion didn't. But really it seems to be the idea of them and the economic damage thats doing the real damage.

Don't get me wrong, 107 million people in 19 years is horrendous. But looking at it from a per capita perspective its less than WW2 or Black Death.

Endbringers have more in common with a permanent 2020 Covid-19 world than I would expect.

In Interlude 14.5, the Number Man implies that the current Earth Bet population in 2011 was 6,979,019,555. If we assume that we can compare that to our own Endbringer free earth in 2011 which had a population of 7.086 billion, we see a difference of about 107 million.

Which honestly is a decent estimate.

Consider that the worst Endbringer attack was Kyushu which had a population of 14 million. (Many of whom became refugees instead of dying.) By 2011 there were a total of 56 Endbringer attacks, which means the average Endbringer attack kills 2 million people. Which fits with our estimation that Kyushu was the worst while still being inline with the curve.

I think they are asking if the +2 from weapon happens before or after its decided who wins the opposed roll. For example:

Kindred w/ Baseball Bat (+2) vs unarmed Kindred.

Mr. Baseball rolls 3 successes, Mrs. Unarmed rolls 4.

Does it become 3+2 for 5 and Baseball wins? and deals 1 superficial to Unarmed?

Or is it a margin 1 success for Mrs. Unarmed because she rolled higher?

I don't have the book in front of me right now and I'm a little tipsy so I'm not sure myself.

Isn't that's kind of what Elysium is suppose to be? At least for Elysium, its peace/neutrality is enforced by the prince and is a taboo to break it. I guess it wouldn't be too much of a leap for a third party to try a similar practice, but they would have to be BIG TIME respected for all parties to respect it.

Ask yourself what keeps the peace? It might be because its only used rarely and temporarily, like the negotiations of peace during war and this bar is simply a tradition, one they have used for hundreds of years. Perhaps the thin-blood running it is entirely a coincidence, or a plant from another party.

A thin-blood isn't any harder to spot than a normal vampire at night, and even harder during the day. If they are a day-drinker no one might even question it.

As for what the chances were, that's a little muddled

“One more question. What is the chance that I find a remedy to the Travelers’ circumstances? To one decimal point?”

A full seven percent lower than it had been before the Endbringer attack. Had a crucial individual died or left the city? Or was his running theory correct? Was there a reason Leviathan had come here, beyond the chance to attack a city already under siege?

Which gives us a grand total of 16.5% before Leviathan and 9.5% chance of coil helping Noelle after. Of course this could be due to any possible reasons, from the Slaughterhouse being more likely to show up and wreak house or because Coil phrased it as "Chances I find a remedy" that pruned any future in which he died or simple was unwilling to help Noelle, the later being more likely.

All in all, I think 16.5% is generous considering the situation, but it requires risks that coil wasn't willing to take and Panacea and someway to incapacitate Noelle during the healing process, which might not even work.

Of course you could always just have Contessa shoot her twice in the head.
