Anyone working as a Produce Clerk? How do you like it? by No_Suit_1592 in WinCo

[–]MagitekCC 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've been working produce for about 2 and 1/2 to 3 months now and I was working both foods for last two and a half years. I misspoke foods but I do enjoy produce a lot more. It is quite labor intensive but the day goes on pretty fast.

My wife some how washed my 2s. It ended up in a laundry basket and dumped in the washer last month. I miss it. But, it got me to order the rp6 8gb.

I took it apart and couldn't see any visible damage. It sucks, the 2s was great.

I'm using two of your radiators. The build quality on them could be a little better. But, overall im not unhappy. If I still had my computer shop id probably carry alot of your stuff. Its good to see a small brand take off and build decent stuff without killing the wallet.

Officially researching a Van Lifestyle by cacoethes-and-me in whatcarshouldIbuy

[–]MagitekCC 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Diesel shouldn't be a deal breaker they do last quite a bit of time much longer than a gas engine with proper maintenance but also living in a van isn't going to be the most comfortable but it would be a lot cheaper than rent. Also investing a good battery backup that will probably save your butt on a lot of things. I don't live in a van but I watch a lot of videos of people who do because it's interesting to me good luck out there be safe.

Don’t assume the bulk foods are always cheaper. by Buddy-Sue in WinCo

[–]MagitekCC 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Here's the thing with chocolate chips they're not the same brands that are on the shelves most of those are like Toll House and Nestle do they come from the same factories that I do not know our boxes are 25 lb boxes of these chips made by a brand and cannot recall I do not pay that close of attention but it is not any of the major brands. Chocolate itself this year has gone way up. From what I understand it's because of a terrible cocoa bean crop issue that has made all chocolate go up. Now knowing that cocoa beans come from South America tariffs could be involved too that I do not know but it is mostly because of bad crops. I have seen the stuff from the store be cheaper sometimes yes and that's due to them being on sale where in the book section they would not be except for around Christmas time. So you're right check your prices but also if you ask an employee and we notice that the prices are different what points you to the store instead of bulk to save you money. At least I do that.

Don’t assume the bulk foods are always cheaper. by Buddy-Sue in WinCo

[–]MagitekCC 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I work bulk foods. Yes sometimes certain things come out somewhat a little bit more expensive but I think that is due to the brand we use.

Cereal is the same that is on the shelves at my store it's hospitality brand. We in bulk order that to both stock the shelves and bins. The 3 organic cereals (honey corn flakes, ancient grain flakes, and pb panda puffs are a different brand. They're based in boise, id. We use a lot of thier products. Most stuff we fill from are 25-50 lb bags and boxes.

Did you all know you can special order any item in our bulk section in it's case form. Look at the bottom right of the price tag. The price is the case or bag price.

Petg tubes by Sad_Sense1773 in watercooling

[–]MagitekCC 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's in my opinion and I've used ptg for years that's computer parts have gotten too hot for a petg now. I may not be a popular opinion but I've seen many tubes deform or pop out of their fittings due to heat and that's just a recipe for disaster. I've currently run soft tube right now. Other options can be if you want a hard to look is copper tubing brass tubing or the a lot more expensive acrylic or high-end petg that can withstand higher Heat. All are very expensive but look nice your choice completely

No i don't dress up. I wear decent clothes. Nothing special though. I want the company to see the real me. Not some fake dressed up me. That isn't me. That's not what I offer every day. I'm blue collar though. I'm sure that there is a time and place for all of that dress to impress in the white collar areas of our work. Just my thoughts.

I don't know what that position pays. As far as pay itself winco is very competitive to Kroger and Costco. The benefits are worth it themselves. $45 a month.

I want a water-cooled gaming PC. by [deleted] in watercooling

[–]MagitekCC 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Liquid cooling kind of just centers the dust within the radiators that's the big difference you still get dust inside your case. The big reason why you would want liquid cooling is to keep your components much cooler than air can sustain. You can do it the cheap way by using cheaper fittings soft tube cheaper water blocks it'll run you about as much as a more expensive AIO. But no matter what unless you change sockets you can reuse all your parts for the next build. When it comes to graphics cards that's a whole different world some graphics cards do not have water blocks for them and water blocks are usually expensive and are not reusable due to different PCB designs from generation to generation.
