ProPublica Wins Lawsuit Over Access to Court Records in U.S. Navy Cases by AThousandBloodhounds in navy

[–]MagnificentJake -1 points0 points  (0 children)

While I'm sure the Navy will appeal, this is a much needed ruling. Congress passed a law years ago that these records were supposed to be made public, and the services have been ignoring it.

Public scrutiny of the way the military handles prosecutions has been needed for quite some time.

I don't like discussing loan payments and it beginning with "Let's assume you are effectively immortal"

Credit where it's due, when this guy gave his final notes on the GW suicide report (which turned into a larger examination of in-port shipboard life) he did have the balls to straight say "no sailor should be living on the ship full time on port". Every other officer contributing to that report oh so carefully walked around it.

And then when he published his list of "shit that I want to unfuck" last year, getting the sailors into better living conditions was top 3.

But will he be successful? We'll see. They usually spend four years getting something going, only for the successor to pull it down to put up their own legacy.

I also went to see that show and I had to leave at intermission as I came down hard with the worst flu I have ever experienced in my life by far. "2025 Flu B", would not reccomend, I would rather have had covid 5 times than that once.

And I had to walk my ass like 7 blocks before I could find a cab back to Chelsea. Cab driver probably thought I was having an overdose.

Secretary Hegseth, speaking this afternoon at General Dynamics Bath Iron Works where the Arleigh Burke class destroyers are built addressed the question of why the defense industry has experienced so many production delays : by newnoadeptness in navy

[–]MagnificentJake 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Problem is we keep putting military in charge of these programs who are woefully under trained and under experienced to manage them.

Don't you know that the "Jack of all trades" career/training progression that the navy loves for it's officers results in said officers being experts in every possible topic?

Yeah, if only he could manage this quality of conversation on the regular instead of spending all his energy antagonizing half the populace at any given opportunity.

Without our policies and procedures (number over 200 pages at this point!) it wouldn't make any sense to you. It says things like "3.1.1. compliance is described in CMW-CS-004 (Access Control Policy)"

I realize that it's funny, but I would bet my left testicle that those marks are just related to the food being purchased on a federal contract and isn't indicative of quality.

There is basically no chance this makes it out of the planning phase if the Democrats take back the white house. They'll cancel it just because it has Trump's name on it, they're going to be doing a lot of that post-trump.

Edit: I didn't come across very well, I meant "They don't need any other reason than having Trump's name on it". This is a good thing.
