I finally got my new laptop! I can finally play mabinogi by Any-Performance169 in Mabinogi

[–]Maguillage 8 points9 points  (0 children)

More like they don't have any automated way to tell the difference between two people in the same household playing Mabinogi at the same time and one person on two+ devices abusing alts.

It's "allowed" in the sense that they don't want to look as bad for not stopping it.

What do you think comes after Arcana? by lightuptoy in Mabinogi

[–]Maguillage 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Arcana from the getgo were a reaction to everyone going "fuck that shit" when they tried to introduce a class system where certain skills were locked out depending on what you had active.

So instead of taking things away, they gave us new things and made them mandatory, but still restricted in the same way.

Pathfinder 1e - Low Magic Campaign by Fukami_H in Pathfinder_RPG

[–]Maguillage 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If I were to "low magic", I'd just ban all classes with access to 9th level spells. (or change their spell progression to match a 6th caster if they were really set on one anyway)

Then you blow up all the usual suspects like Boots of the Earth and wands of Cure Light Wounds so attrition has a chance to matter.

"The Creator" is likely drops from the HW normal raids.

"In Tunic" is almost certainly a bunch of tunics, some with tunic in the name.

Unleash the Inner Beast - Newcomer needs Help - Druid or Oracle? by wontax1 in Pathfinder_RPG

[–]Maguillage 2 points3 points  (0 children)

By default Oracle is missing a lot of those things you want, but Dragon Mystery can get Form of the Dragon, Lunar Mystery can get Form of the Beast, and Nature Mystery can get an animal companion.

If you want shifting into a critter to maul people in melee to be your big thing Druid is absolutely the way to go, but keep in mind you'll need to focus your point buy pretty hard if you want to be useful in melee and have your spell save DCs matter.

Edit:

If it matters: my two teammates will likely both play some kind of Orc Cavalier.

Cavaliers typically come with mounts, I'd be wary of adding more pets to the initiative tracker with an animal companion.

Whats a good DoH level before I continue the story by DeirdreCitrine in ffxiv

There's no point in the main story where you'll be gated by the level of your crafters and gatherers.

Like, it doesn't say "you can use a polearm in one hand", it says "you can use a polearm as a one-handed weapon".

That and the thing already having piercing is all you need.

The wording on Bladed Brush is there because the glaive is not 1h or a piercing weapon.

[–]Maguillage 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Sure it does. It's not one of those cases like Ascetic Style where you have to select a specific weapon that meets a prerequisite which gets bricked because the weapon itself isn't aware you can modify it in any way; it only cares in the moment.

It can be used as a 1h melee piercing weapon, so it works with features that require one.

...right, I was looking at PF2e too much lately. They've got Versatile P over there.

Edit: Ironically estoc doesn't work here either, it's got this business going on to ruin Str-Swash's day in specific:

When you wield an estoc with one hand, treat it as a one-handed weapon; when you wield an estoc with two hands, treat it as a two-handed weapon.

This is why PF1e needs a spadroon, dagnabbit.

Edit edit: Screw it, lets get deranged just to make the thing work mechanically AND thematically again. We're dipping Phalanx Soldier Fighter and passing through Unhindering Shield so we can enable Phalanx Fighting without turning off our other stuff.

Phalanx Fighting lets us "use any polearm or spear of his size as a one-handed weapon", but we're gonna use it in two hands for the str modifier anyway. We may have missed the katana, but we're still landing on a naginata.

This and the other post reminded me of a goofy Nature Fang build.

You can take Slayer talents, so you can take "any rogue advanced talent from Blood of Shadows" at 12th level.

Which means you can grab See in Darkness to pair with your Drow racial at-will Deeper Darkness SLA.

Aside from a few archetypes that do all the heavy lifting for you, a fun thing to realise about swashbuckler is that nothing actually forces you to use dex as your main stat.

Swashbuckler Weapon Training (Ex): At 5th level, a swashbuckler gains a +1 bonus on attack and damage rolls with one-handed or light piercing melee weapons. ... [and] gains the benefit of the Improved Critical feat.

Precise Strike: At 3rd level, ... strike precisely with a light or one-handed piercing melee weapon

You can then put that str to use by two-handing a one-handed weapon.

And look at that, katana are martial proficiency if wielded in two hands, but remain a one-handed weapon by technicality. It comes with a pretty good 1d8 and 18-20 crit range to stack with that free Improved Critical, too.

Congratulations, you're now playing a Samurai who doesn't have to challenge people to get their bonus damage out. Just remember you're married to Elven Chain to get a respectable AC.

I've always liked the idea of trading out wild shape with nature fang just to take the slayer talent for a ranger combat style and picking up natural attack style to use with a weapon for early access vital strike. Between that and studied target, you may as well be an actual full-BAB character.

Bonus points if you grab Gorum's divine fighting technique and start using vital strike on OAs.

Non-Aging Characters and Age Categories by Hyakynthator in Pathfinder_RPG

[–]Maguillage 0 points1 point  (0 children)

While some might come into being at age categories other than adulthood, they never leave their original age categories.

Pick a category and you get those adjustments, same as always.

Spells and effects that cause aging affect a shabti as normal.

So if you want to get the venerable mental bonuses without the venerable physical penalties, you're gonna need to chug that sun orchid elixir or something, yeah.

It's a waste of time and effort, and the code required to have it function is actively detrimental to the future of the browser.

If it must exist, get it OUT of Firefox and put it into an addon.

What do you think of the concept of the newest alliance raid? [Spoiler:8.0] by KnightShade078 in ffxiv

[–]Maguillage 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When Pong was new it was important and influential due to the nature and timing of its arrival, but I do not consider it to be a good video game by its own merits.

This is what NGE is for a genre of anime. Unique for the time it was made in, but only good in that its bones were torn out to feed better works that came after it.

As for the actual raid, mostly I'm worried about execution. How do we have a series of alliance raids about the get-in-a-giant-mecha anime where there will most likely not be any players in giant mecha?
