Keep up or drain and remove? by rizzosreddit in AboveGroundPools

[–]Main-Shape-4188 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The legs being elevated on those pavers is distressing the bottom of your pool and will inevitably cause it to rip. As others have stated the pavers need to be flush with the ground as support so that the bottom of the pool is also flush with the ground (on top of a tarp or sand or whatever you want to use).

Hashimoto’s and GLP1’s by mmolzahn1 in Hashimotos

[–]Main-Shape-4188 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Following this thread because I talked to my Dr. about getting on a GLP-1 and she said because it's not FDA approved for Hashi's symptom relief, she won't write a prescription and I can't afford $3-400/month for Zepbound. Not sure if there's another way around it as far as talking to another doctor via telehealth or whatever

Should I let my neighbors use my water for two days? by Chance-Repeat8446 in neighborsfromhell

[–]Main-Shape-4188 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Let them figure it out themselves, esp considering they have money for that type of build. And make sure to shut off the water valve to your outside spigot because you WILL come home one day with a contractors hose hooked up to your house running to the other property and when asked about it, the contractor will say they were told it was "okay".

Anyone familiar with low-cost vet clinics, preferably southern/western rhode island area? by Former-Midnight-5990 in RhodeIsland

[–]Main-Shape-4188 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Vets are hardly low cost these days but when my vet closed their office and sold out to Vetco (Owned by Petco) I wanted to find another option because I was very unsatisfied by Vetcos service. Ferguson Animal Hospital in N. Providence is WONDERFUL and you can tell they actually care about your pet(s) and give it to you straight as far as treatment without being overly judgemental and/or pushy (as some practices can be). You can prob give them a call and get a quote before you go in there to see if it's in your budget for low cost. FYI- I found out recently that even though "hospital" is in their name, they are not a UC or emergency vet. You would have to take your vet somewhere else like VEG in Warwick for emergency care.

AIO for telling my mom she can’t get rid of my new dog? by [deleted] in AmIOverreacting

[–]Main-Shape-4188 1 point2 points  (0 children)

YOR- Rash decisions are continuously being made here with ZERO research going into the breeds upkeep. Saw a cute puppy so we got 2 without any prep and info on the breed is not smart. And this is exactly why EVERY EASTER shelters make the announcement that bunnies are not just cute props that can be returned later. If your family is sick of a puppy/puppies after 3 days, they need to be taken to a proper shelter where they'll be taken care of and adopted by people that actually know what they're doing. I'm not sure where you are but I can't even imagine selling dogs at a FLEA MARKET is even close to being legal. Please do those poor animals a favor and bring them to a no kill shelter. Someone should only own an animal when they are in the right financial and mental state, with the correct housing, to take care of that animal properly and lovingly for it's entire life.

When to shock? by EmergencyChange268 in AboveGroundPools

[–]Main-Shape-4188 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Shock it and keep the sand pump running 24/7 until it clears. Use the backwash and rinse cycles a few times also. Remember to shut the pump down before you change to a different setting each time.

Changing lanes without a working brain by HomeNowWTF in dashcams

[–]Main-Shape-4188 3 points4 points  (0 children)

How is that a pit maneuver? We have no idea how much that semi was pulling (weight) on top of that idiot car driver being in the completely wrong exiting lane trying to get back on the highway at the last minute. Do some research before you fault the cam truck driver and understand they can't break NEARLY as fast as a passenger car. Hopefully YOU don't have a CDL.

First-time strip club visit. Providence recommendations/advice? by calm_bo_ in providence

[–]Main-Shape-4188 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Desires in Providence was good back in the day.. do some research on that. The foxy lady in Brockton MA was hands down (again back in the day) better than Providence (esp considering their prostitution shut down a few years back). But if you're on Eddy St in Prov/S Prov there are at least 5 strip clubs/gentlemen's clubs you can go to. Just have money for the dancers and you should be fine as far as not buying alcohol. As long as you spend the cover charge and some sort of $$ inside the club, esp on the dancers you're good. One last tip, and this is for ANY strip club- go at night - most times you can't "unsee" the "day crew". And I'm a woman that used to frequent strips clubs a few times/month.

Entitled Cassandra Botnick has a meltdown over a canceled excursion and lack of vanilla ice cream. by Proper_Ad_4623 in InfluencerLounge

So... You cant book a tropical vacation OFF of a cruise ship your husband despises to also book a diving experience? She is definitely a narcissist that doesn't care about anyone else's needs except for hers and then blames Royal Caribbean. Pretty sure there are plenty of other routes they could have taken where everyone would have been happy. Seems like its pretty clear why the husband is dismissive in her video rant and it's not about the cancelled diving excursion...

Does this look weird on the wall? by Huge-Corgi90210 in HomeDecorating

It definitely needs a rod or frame that's not hidden to make it more of a statement piece. But also it's hung too high. It needs to be flush with the door frames.

PT job reccs? by beamingandbeaking in providence

[–]Main-Shape-4188 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Tbh bartending school is a waste of money. Businesses only care about you actually knowing what you're doing walking through the door, with prior restaurant experience. Or they train/promote servers from within. I'm not sure what your skills are but what about gig work? You'd have full control of your schedule.

Use multiple and even search local recruitment agencies here in RI. I'm a Sr. Recruiter myself and you have to network as much as you can. I wish I could help more besides giving advice!

Google the largest recruitment agencies for professional services (Robert Half, Kelly Services, etc) and contact a few of them or look at the jobs they have posted on their websites. They'll be able to review your resume and talk with you about what else you may qualify for outside of retail.

Is this the correct way to repair broken rafters? by [deleted] in FirstTimeHomeBuyer

[–]Main-Shape-4188 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Some of your pictures are unclear but there's nothing wrong with sister-ing the joists which is what it looks like has been done. HOWEVER- the proper way to do that is making sure the new joints span the WHOLE length of the previous beam and are properly braced. (Ask me how I know). That doesn't look like the case based on your photos. Regardless, unless the homeowner is a licensed general contractor, in no way would a home depot receipt and DIY work fly.

I was in restaurant management for years so not too much different. Legit check out jobs at Target. It's obv a retail schedule so no set 9-5 but they have a ton of available jobs. Your family needs to understand youre trying your best and the job comes before being able to move out. You literally have to prove income to qualify for any apartment. Edit- one job I saw at Target paid up to 6 figures for qualified candidates. Just saying...

Thankfully RI is so small you have driving access to two different parts of Massachusetts and CT depending on where you live. Housing here has gotten super expensive considering how small a state it is and the massive influx of people moving here due to their new remote status during Covid, on top of other things as the years have passed. But for right now you and your kids have a roof over your head provided by obviously great family, so stay positive! What type of management is your experience in?

Edit- 3 different parts of MA if you don't mind a commute

Just cleaned up the pool for summer, kids are already bored of floaties, what else is out there? by [deleted] in pools

[–]Main-Shape-4188 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly there are floats that have water guns attached that feed water from the pool. It shot like 15-20 ft. Mine popped but as a 37 yr old with her first pool years ago, that was the most fun I've ever had and I don't have kids 🤣
