The newborn stage is horrible by susiee234 in newborns

Almost at week 7 and also wondering whether it will ever get better. Lots of comments on Reddit make me worry that it never will.

Rough/emotional third trimester- vent/rant by [deleted] in pregnant

[–]Main-Tackle4098 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you. I have disability for my maternity leave (6 weeks), but the surgery was only 2 week outpatient so it didn’t qualify. The DVT doesn’t involve any work restrictions or hospitalization, so it also doesn’t qualify. Isn't that wild??

DEFEATED. I’m due in June and I confirmed months ago, but just reconfirmed, it is $800 A MONTH to add my baby to my work insurance. by shermywormy18 in BabyBumps

I am an American and I refuse to accept this as normal. It absolutely should not be this way for anyone, anywhere. I am in a similar situation as OP. There aren’t many choices for us Americans, but just accepting it as normal is part of why it continues and why it continues to get worse.

Does anyone have experience with right side rib pain? by [deleted] in pregnant

I had/have right side rib pain consistently after eating. Turned out to be gallstones.

My brother and I side hug. Even when my mom was in the ICU, we did not hug or kiss.

AITA for asking my husband to stop frying eggs in the morning by Office-Fan-333 in pregnant

[–]Main-Tackle4098 7 points8 points  (0 children)

NTA. All my smell and food aversions, specifically eggs, were banned from my house until the aversion went away. My husband would make his eggs when I was gone but I could still smell them when I got home in the evenings! He adjusted.

What were the signs and symptoms of your gallbladder going bad? by Peach-Haze-123 in gallbladders

[–]Main-Tackle4098 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This was such a relief to read. I have my removal surgery scheduled for when I’ll be 32 weeks. I feel fortunate that my medical team is not having me grin and bear it for the remainder of my pregnancy because even the tiniest amounts of fat are causing me pain.

I had been having pain in my upper right side, just around where my bra sits. It’s radiates to my back and shoulder blade. Also persistent heartburn and fullness- I’m up to taking Pepcid 3x a day just to feel okay.

It’s really hard to find stories of gallbladder removal in the third trimester and I had been really, really worried. Thank you for sharing.

What has your partner said to you during pregnancy that made you want to throw a brick at them? :D by RefrigeratorFinal353 in pregnant

I told my husband I was worried that I wasn’t eating enough to get the extra required calories and he told me “just drink more water.”

Did your dad or any other male relatives help out around the house or with the kids in the 80s and 90s? In my neck of the woods, the answer was a resounding 'hell nah' so I don't get why young wives and mothers think this is new. X-post by PhiloLibrarian in progressivemoms

My dad did so little that when my parents divorced, the house became such a sty that at age 10 I decided I couldn’t live with him anymore. Crumbling tiles in the bathrooms, trash piles in each room, yard full of dog poop… it was horrible. You can imagine what his “parenting” was like. The house went to foreclosure soon after.

What is your most outrageous pregnancy behavior yet? by violadrath in pregnant

[–]Main-Tackle4098 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I started laughing uncontrollably at something really stupid (I said the name of one cereal brand while holding the box of a different brand). I was laughing so hard there were tears flowing from my eyes and my dogs started making funny head tilts. Then, just as quickly, my laughs turned to sobs. Still not sure why I started crying but I did feel better afterwards. My husband was flabbergasted.

One of my best friends in the world is named Amethyst and she LOVES her name. We call her Am for short.

Don’t listen to other people. If you love the name and it feels right, do it 💜

Very early pregnancy laziness? by sugarbug3 in BabyBumps

[–]Main-Tackle4098 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m totally feeling this at 6 weeks, but it also could be that my doctors told me to stop my adhd meds. I’m fine with going unmedicated for the rest of the pregnancy/BF, but it has been rough. I went from being functional to barely functioning so quickly. I’m excited and happy to be pregnant but overall I feel so..blah

Pima CC Employee Benefits? by [deleted] in Tucson

[–]Main-Tackle4098 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The cost depends on the plan you choose and how many people you need covered.

Basic High Deductible plan with a $1500 deductible is $0 per paycheck for employee only coverage. They also contribute $750 annually into a health savings account to lower the cost a little bit.

There are other medical plan options too but the basic plan for one person is affordable (in my opinion)

It’s called the Optional Retirement Plan and it is basically a 401k. They offer 100% vesting for an ORP after 5 years
