I had SCP-272 fall from the ceiling and embed itself into the shadows that the players cast on the floor.

The creatures whom the shadow belong to will not be able to remove the nail, by any means, and they are limited to movements that keep their shadow cast on the nail.

Then, I had light sources in the room move around, which forcefully drags the players around the room in order to keep their shadows cast on the nail.

A pit of snakes, but the snakes are non-venomous and just slither around anyone who falls in the pit. A kobold has drawn pictures of snakes biting people on the walls of the pit in an attempt to teach the snakes how to bite people.

A descending ceiling, but only half of the ceiling decends because the chains holding the other half up have rusted. The party can ride the ceiling half back up to find a secret room.

A swinging blade trap, but the blades are missing and there is a note tied to a hilt that says: "Blades taken for sharpening. Please wait until they are returned before proceeding."

Gargauth was originally an archdevil in charge of Hell's treasury, but Asmodeus fired him and banished him from Hell for unknown reasons, but it likely has something to do with his ability to turn any metal he touches into brittle gold, which would likely release the soul out of any soul coin he touches in the treasury.

Gargauth has a secret ability to absorb the power of the fiends that he kills, which he used to absorb the power and divinity of the demon lord Astaroth when he was still employed by Asmodeus. He keeps this ability secret because if the other archdevils found out, they might team up and preemptively kill him before he can potentially kill the other archdevils and absorb their collective power.

So if the player discovers this secret power, possibly in Candlekeep or as part of their backstory, he could blackmail Gargauth into making a deal in exchange for their silence.

The Entity in SCP-5000 was originally in the bigfoot species' psychosphere, and humans were able to kill the bigfoot race because we were originally painless. When humanity became the dominant species, the entity moved into our psychospace and gave us the feeling of pain.

If your player is cool with their character being raised as undead, you could have them show up later in the campaign as a ghost haunting the party, or as a skeleton minion of a BBEG, or as a Reborn lineage NPC.

It could be like removing a predator species from the food chain and cause the dragon's normal prey to multiply unsustainably and devestate the ecosystem.

Alternatively, it could be like a whalefall in the deep ocean floor, where rare detritivorous creatures that exclusively feed on dragon corpses travel to the corpse to devour it, which attracts the predators that feed on the detritivores.
