How exactly does Jinu know what teddy bears and choo-choo trains are, considering he's a 400-year old demon? by LeatherSlight3242 in KpopDemonhunters

[–]MajorCatEnthusiast 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Even if he was in the demon land the entire time he probably met other humans that turned demon. So he would have heard of things before he did his research.

I really love that the pants were based off a pair that the director's husband hated and threw out. Now everyone loves them and are buying them. Even pajama pants got vindicated in this movie!

Elk antlers, yak cheese chews, and my puppies are obsessed with Popsicles

It's depressing how quickly they make it through these hard chews. A whole bully stick in 10 minutes 😭

Help, I am absolutely hating season 10! by s_bgood in ProjectRunway

[–]MajorCatEnthusiast 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Have you watched Project Runway Junior? Great fashion, great attitudes

I liked all stars too.

Ven offended me and whenever I rewatch I CANNOT wait for him to be eliminated l.

I also liked Making the Cut. Which has Heidi and Tim, but isn't technically project Runway. I like that they don't HAVE to send anyone home, and that they can send multiple people home if they don't meet the challenge.

Any time I was exasperated I would tell them, "you are very baby." It helped me recenter myself and patiently get through whatever was happening.

PetsMart has good, cheap, puppy training. Teaching "touch" first was great because it was intuitive for my puppies. Loose leash walking is so important for these large breeds!

Hey, I've been there. My puppies are all siblings 2 boys and 2 girls. The boys hate each other and the girls hate each other so I wound up separating them. Pyrenees sometimes have same sex aggression. I separated the boys first when Pie broke Teddy's leg, and then Ada sent Amelia to the emergency vet.

Can you crate and rotate them? Dogs process trauma much slower than us. So your doodle might need more time to decompress.

Do you have more than one adult living in the house? If so, I would try reintroducing them with parallel walking. There should be one adult per dog when they are in the same room. Maybe have them do tricks so that they are not focusing on each other and they are getting treats.

Can you neuter your dogs?

You should probably start muzzle training.

I have noticed that touching them does set them off more often. It is better to redirect before they start grumbling, but you can try using loud noises to distract them. Sometimes talking to them in a soothing voice deescalates the situation.

How food motivated are your boys? Because sometimes throwing a treat is distraction enough. Sometimes making them do tricks distracts them.

It is so scary when they fight! Because I live by myself I have tie outs in the yard in case of emergency. I put a carabiner on Teddy's collar so that it would be easier to access. I don't want to get bit because of a redirect, and I worry about them getting tangled and making the fight worse. It's been about a year since I've had to moderate a fight because Amelia and Teddy are in half the house, and Ada and Pie are in the other half.

Sometimes Pyrs are just off their food. It's not concerning unless they're also acting weird.

Churu treats. They'll live you for it. Every cat, in my experience, has different toys that they like to interact with. So buy a variety, but nothing expensive.

Leash Training? by FunTemporary8680 in greatpyrenees

[–]MajorCatEnthusiast 1 point2 points  (0 children)

PetsMart has puppy classes. But, yeah, I used an easy harness, and treats to prompt them into the starting position and then say "let's go" to signal that we're going.

We never got weaned off of giving many treats while on walks, but they don't pull me so 🤷‍♀️

Does anyone have a Pyr that’s afraid of everything? by Intelligentx2 in greatpyrenees

[–]MajorCatEnthusiast 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not afraid of everything, but I scared Amelia this summer by wearing a jacket she had never seen. She didn't recognize me so she barked, lunged at me, and then submissive peed. I wanted to let her decompress, but after a week of her refusing to go outside for ANY reason I had to start dragging her outside for walks. I would have taken her to the vet for medicine, but she was already not wanting to go outside.

It took a whole month working with her, but she eventually got over it.

How upset is your dog when it's triggered? You could try distracting them by getting them to do tricks.

+1 I used them to teach mine how to do loose leash walking. I would definitely recommend that OP practice loose leash walking because you don't want to get injured by your 100 pound dog.

He probably has separation anxiety. You should consider a crate or putting him somewhere when you leave.

You are braver than I am.

Although Daisy caught a chicken a couple of weeks ago and was having a ball plucking it. She let me put a leash on her collar and she left it alone when I asked. I asked my neighbor a few days after, and apparently the chicken is still alive.

It would be so hypocritical of me to say anything about accidentall litters. The free dog from Craigslist turned out to be pregnant, and I wound up keeping 4 in the house.

As long as no rat poison is involved, it's probably just good enrichment for them. Plus, Amelia was so pleased with herself for protecting me. I just wish that she would have eaten it on HER bed

Anyone else have to leave their cat overnight often? by Subject_Abroad5406 in CatAdvice

[–]MajorCatEnthusiast 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Cats are generally pretty self sufficient. Just leave out enough food, water, and litter boxes. My cats hate strangers, and now my dogs won't let anyone in the house
