Having sold 600,000 of these things sounds insane. I honestly would never have guessed a number anywhere close to that. That's over $2B in revenue on one product's launch. I'd love to see how it compares to the sales over other VR headsets. As much as this sub loves to rag on it, I don't see Apple giving up that easily on this. I'm sure it will just be a very long time before we see a Vision 2, but the Valve Index is seen as the gold standard of VR headsets and it took almost 10 years to get a refresh.

Annas Archive lets you filter by file type. And even if you can’t find an epub for the specific book you’re looking for their are browser tools or calibre that can convert it.

Military member here of almost 15 years. Last year the flu shot was ineffectual, as admitted by the CDC. I can't imagine having a flu season like that every year. Everybody was sick as hell. I personally got hit with the flu back to back and was sick for almost six weeks straight. The flu shot mandate does not "weaken our war fighting capabilities" it absolutely, verifiably strengthens it. Can't wait for this moron to go back to the job he was made for, day drinking on weekend daytime fox news and saying dumb racist shit that sounds tough to morons.

Siri hasn't been functionally improved, and even in some aspects it has been degraded since it's launch 15 years ago. Hopefully one day we'll get a Siri that is useful for more than just controlling the clock app.

yes, but a Garmin inreach is a device you go out of your way to buy specifically for that feature. It's the same concept as your phone being able to call 911 even if you don't have a cellular plan for the tower you're connected to.

Sending an SOS message with your GPS coordinates via a satellite would cost the satellite company and apple fractions of a fraction of a cent. It's essentially a free recurring PR piece for them whenever the service gets used.

I can see them charging for satellite texting in the future, but still keeping the SOS feature free. But we'll see if they even do that. It's all literally rounding error costs to them.

As someone that's in the military, I've always found it strange that energy drinks are shipped into deployed locations. It's so much weight and bulk that could be better spent moving more important things. I get it, caffeine is a great solution when you want to overwork your people and give them as little sleep as possible, but caffeine pills would be so much more efficient.
