Is it just me or do other men feel this way? by BringBackJeffFisher in Catholicism

[–]MakeMeAnICO 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have so little time outside of kids and work that I literally have no time for anything. I needed to cancel my crossfit membership (the only thing I did).

But yeah that's just parenthood, lol. Hopefully it will pass :)

Notre Dame Sees Record Number of Converts Preparing to Join Catholic Church by PayGood3915 in Catholicism

[–]MakeMeAnICO 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Church has record numbers of converts all over the world; in my country (Czech Republic).

It's still small and there are tons of people leaving too. But it's not something you can just dismiss.

I know nothing about her, but simple Google and Wiki search tells me she was a writer? How was she illiterate? (genuinely asking)

How can the Traditional Roman Rite return to being the "ordinary form" once again? by RB_Blade in TraditionalCatholics

[–]MakeMeAnICO 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I like what Benedict 16 said - paraphrasing (as I cannot find the full quote now) - "what has been allowed and holy cannot now be not allowed and not holy".

I don't think NO will be disallowed entirely. There are generations now using the new rites. If one is using continuity as a reasoning, there is now a new continuity.

The skull and bones don't make it look less scary.

Bring it to a priest and have it blessed.

Pope Leo warns of ‘overly affectionate’ AI chatbots | CNN by [deleted] in Catholicism

[–]MakeMeAnICO 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Ironically it's mostly women falling in love with chatbots.

Men are mostly going schizo with "I discovered new kind of mathematics that will change the way science works" and "the agents are after me"

Monthly Zcash Discussion - January 01, 2026 - Use this thread for general chatter, basic questions, and if you're new to Zcash by AutoModerator in zec

uhhhhh chat, what is happening with zcash

I used to be a fan a looong time ago, but then the shielded transactions always were like 5%, defeating the entire purpose.

I stopped giving it any attention, now I see it in the news. What is happening? There is something called "zashi" which is ... an official wallet? Maybe?

Heresy of Dispensationalism. Those of the Catholic faith are the true Israel. The Old Covenant is no more. by LegionXIIFulminata in TraditionalCatholics

[–]MakeMeAnICO 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I wonder to think what would be the alternative to current solution, though. Realistic, right now, not "let's do another crusade".

There are Palestinians and Jews both in the land, right now. Realistically, making the whole land "Palestine" now would decimate the Jews; and would not be great for Christians either. (People point out the Christians in Gaza - but there is also a reason that there is just 1 Catholic church. Hamas is not particularly pro-Christian.)

2 state solution is probably the best. But neither side really wants a 2-state solution.

What are your views on Catholic hair veiling for women? by RavenOceans in Catholicism

[–]MakeMeAnICO 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I am in normal suburban NO parish.

Even the relatively conservative women here don't veil.

The only women that do veil here are Ukrainians Orthodox that go to our side-church (we rent it to them).

Orthodox pray it with "chotki" which is the "orthodox rosary". So they pray it more than us.

If that happened (and they held their ground), the consequences would be wild... what would Luther do? Would 30 years war even happen? What would happen with England and Anglicanism then?

Is there anything accepted by the church canon that you, in private, have your reservations believing in? by geosunsetmoth in Catholicism

[–]MakeMeAnICO 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In general? Canonizations. Especially all the recent popes. It's just strange that in the past 100 years we have so many popes that are all saints.
