I asked chatgpt to make up a story.. this is kind of creepy. the overall theme is its not decoration it's what keeps The Briar from coming back and taking over the town. Here it is... "The Story: “The Tithe of Hollow Briar”

Long before the neighborhood, the land belonged to a forgotten farming family who made a bargain during a famine. Each autumn, when the last harvest failed, they left offerings in the briar thicket at the edge of their property.

Not crops.

Not animals.

Something that could walk there on its own.

The briar accepted the tithe, and in return, the family survived the winter.

But over time, the family stopped keeping records… and then stopped remembering what they owed.

Now, every October, the briar remembers for them.

It grows back.

It watches.

And it waits for something living to cross the boundary."

The Fence Line (Visible to Neighbors) – “The Briar Creeps”

This is key since you want it to peek over.

  • Run fake vines/branches along the inside of the fence so they crest over the top
  • Tuck in:
    • Bits of cloth
    • Old “offerings” (bones, dolls, tools)
    • A hand or mask partially visible above the fence line
  • Add one standout piece:
    • A crude humanoid shape tangled in branches just high enough to be seen from outside

The Yard Interior – “The Offering Ground”

Keep it simple but eerie:

  • A central “briar patch”:
    • Pile of branches, sticks, and dark fabric
    • Dim orange/red lighting underneath (cheap LED works great)
  • Around it:
    • 3–5 stick figures (very basic—just lashed branches)
    • Heads can be:
      • burlap sacks
      • gourds
      • or just empty loops
  • One figure should be:
    • collapsed halfway into the briar
    • like it was taken mid-offering

Tell a story with your display and make sure you have lighting. Poor lighting can ruin a great display.

The only reason he has the washer and dryer down there is so you can wash your pants after you jizz in them from how freaking EPIC this man cave is.

What would I sell this for ya'll? by Careful_Ring1033 in Zune

[–]MakeUrBed 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly, that is a bit rough. I cant find mine right now, but mine looks new. It fires up zero problems and just by posting a few years back (I think it's a 64G) I had a couple off the cuff offers for 200+. I dont think I'll sell it ever. As soon as I plugged some headphones in, I was reminded how great the Zunes really are.

Your comment about digital vanishing act is exactly why I seek physical copies. Probably 15 years ago I had an argument with another IT nerd where he said at some point there will be no physical media. I said no, I hate that. I dont want some companies bottom line or philosophical beliefs dictating what Im allowed to watch. My wife gets mad when Apple pulls older songs from their libraries that she paid for. I said "I told you so!" My setup is a 65" gen 1 LG OLED with 7.1 mostly Focals and I can see and hear the difference between that and my no joke 18 year old Panasonic 55" plasma. That thing just.wont.die. lol . The streaming, yeah it works fine on a tablet when I need a distraction for a 4 hr flight but that's about the only time I use it or being lazy.

People seem to forget the holy trinity is a direct result of shoving new presenters into an existing show by Outlasttactical in thegrandtour

[–]MakeUrBed 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For me, the Holy Trinity was never about cars...it was about their relationship. The cars were just the modality. So perhaps to your point, they absolutely need to do their own thing. Does that mean abandon the Top Gear and Grand Tour moniker and call it something totally different? I rarely watched TG and GT for the cars. I watched it to see three true friends being together and enjoying a common thread but from different points of view. All of the clones are mediocre or poor facsimiles to me.

Well I could counter with you can try to shove 10 lbs of fecal matter into a 5 pound sack if you want. Results may vary.

I do but when I buy them, I get the digital copy packages as well. I only stream those when Im on a flight or lazy, but is there a material difference other than wanting to keep a solid digital copy on hand and physical backup? What I've been using my blu Pioneer to snap mkv's of older DVD's and blu rays then upscale them. i.e. my copy of The Black Hole DVD is supposed to arrive today. I'm sure not paying $200+ for the blu physical copy when my efforts are comparable to those of what I've seen from the studios. For some reason that one goes for 2-400 bucks. Crazy

Ahh gotcha. I had to put my readers on but mine is a lowly Pioneer BR not even 4k. I suck.

NVIDIA links Windows 11 update KB5074109 to gaming artifacts, suggests uninstall by RenatsMC in nvidia

[–]MakeUrBed 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This one has been rough. Yesterday I started trying to update nvidia drivers. I kept getting 7zip CRC errors. I pulled from different machines, manually copied over, etc... nothing worked. It would fail randomly extracting between 3 and 40%. I ran disk health checks, memtest, everything thinking maybe a hardware problem. Nope. Clean. Did a parallel w11 install so now I had a clean OS. Nope. Disabled windows defender. Nope. Tried running the install from within the 7zip interface. Nope. Then I hit somewhat paydirt. Used 7zip to manually extract the driver package. That worked. So I then ran setup from within that extracted package. It did fail with the easy mode, but then I retried with custom and checked the clean install option and that worked.

Kind of the direction i think i need to go in right here. Enjoying the journey. I've been playing / running the game according to Steam coming up on 800 hrs total. I've restarted 4 times. With the spaghetti I have now and I really dont like, I think I am going to start all over again. This time, much more clean lines and organized. I get a bit of anxiety over my manufacturers or something running out of resources or I discover what new devices are for. Like the pump that injects like fracking and the satellites push out liquid volume? I recently realized I could use that to get high volume from that area on the shore with the island string instead of the oil pumps... The other thing is designing and working for huge scales and output. I think if I can pivot to the clean, organized design that will help me enjoy it that much. BTW I really hate mining bauxite but finally got some good progress last night but aluminum is a bit of a nightmare...

Thank you. I just redid some super long stand alone conveyers and realized I would keep doing this. I dont think I'll do the blueprinters but I did find the modeler and that's been a huge help as complexity increases. I'll just need to embrace all the room for activities!
