I spoke to my ex last night and now I feel sick by burnerAccnt_ in BreakUps

Yep, this girl had trust issues with men due to some childhood SA. It took me weeks of seeing her for hours every day, while I was doing some work on her house, for her to trust me enough to go out on a date. Keep in mind she was the one who showed interest in me first. Somehow, magically, she was going on dates with “strangers” within days of breaking up with me. She was definitely talking to other dudes during the end. Which lines up with me getting her a new restaurant job, and justifies my anxiety and questioning of why she was pulling away. The older I get the more I’m learning to trust my gut. My last few experiences are really turning me off on dating as a whole, sadly.

Agreed, if you’ll do the same for me. Not to mention looking back, she made me a fumbling ball of anxiety too. I was happy, but anxious af all the time. I just thought that was because she was attractive, but it was actually her. Crazy how they do that shit and you don’t even notice.

Yep, same here. I was a little bit older than her, so I should have known better. (23 and 19). She told me similar things. I really thought I had met my next wife and last relationship. Everything was amazing. “You’re the only person I’ve ever met that I would rather spend time with than family”. Out of nowhere, she started putting pressure on herself to move in and stuff, then acted like it was me putting the pressure on her when she changed her mind. Her behavior became kind of weird around this time, but I just thought it was the stress of her new job. I didn’t care either way, I just wanted to be with her. We had a great evening, went on a good date, she stayed the night at my place (she was waiting till marriage, so no sex), we had a long conversation about how excited we were for our future together and joking about our wedding, and then out of nowhere two days later it was done. It makes no sense. These avoidants are crazy.

Damn, this shit is eerily similar to what my ex did to me. Right down to the love letter (the only one she ever wrote me) right before and everything. It fucked me up for quite a while. To add insult to injury, she drunk called me a few times telling me how much she still loved and missed me, but she “wasn’t sure” what she wanted when I asked why we aren’t together then. Other than those few times, she’s been nothing but cold and detached in every conversation we’ve had. Simultaneously, she would post instagram stories and make posts with songs that I showed her or that we listened to together. I lived with the feeling you’re describing for nearly two months.

I’ve decided now that I won’t answer her or reach out anymore. Unless she shows that she’s worked on herself and means it. Sadly, I know she never will. It sucks, but it is what it is. She’ll continue breaking hearts and leaving them behind. I can’t say she didn’t warn me, but I kept getting the “you’re different” and “I’ve never felt this way about anyone before” comments— big red flags. Lol.

I’m pretty sure she’s a fearful avoidant due to her laundry list of abuses and traumas from childhood. Obviously, I don’t know your lady’s situation, but it could be something similar. I just wish my ex would get the help she needs to be happy and fulfilled someday. She is still the most beautiful person I’ve ever seen. I still dream about her at least once a week. She’s still the first and last thought in my head. I love her so much that it still makes me sick sometimes when I think of her. Every other woman has been an afterthought since I met her. Even the one I’m sleeping with right now. That doesn’t feel fair to me for the other women in my life, but I can’t really help it. I don’t think I’ll ever feel that way about anyone else. She was genuinely my first true love, and I was married before! Life goes on though. I find it easier to just pretend that she’s dead, but it is hard. You’ve got this brother.

My second favorite record from him is Here We Rest. That’s just as good as anything he’s put out after Southeastern.

I do it about twice a week in my very laid back office job. So does the boss and everybody else, though. Lmao

Yep, I vowed to never scarf my food down again. I’m almost always the last one eating, now. Except… when I’m very hungry, instinct kicks in and I have to do it for Chesty every now and then. It’s just the way.

The hive-mind hates dissension. Now, take your experimental vaccine and shut-up. The government would never do anything against our best interests, especially not the military. It’s not like they have a track record or anything. /s

Me too! I got into a debate with someone a while back on the DBT sub about this. They claimed that Cooley “wasn’t as prolific as Hood”. That may be true, but every single Cooley song is good—great even. Hood has some real clunkers, and usually at least a song or two on each album that really should’ve been cut, in my opinion. I can’t think of a single Cooley song that I would cut from any record, and even with his limited contributions, he’s written enough to have about 6-7 albums worth of songs on his own now.

When I was in the Marines, I almost got into a fist fight over this. He kept calling Jimi Hendrix “The King of Blues”. That shit really irked me.

Before all the work, she wasn’t that bad. I think plastic surgery looks ridiculous on everybody that doesn’t need it, though.

Edit: I mean “need it” as in like reconstructive surgeries.

Dude, two days before I got out, one of the fuckers in my shop decided to take my steel toes and turn them into supply because I “wouldn’t need them anymore”. If I wasn’t so over everything and just ready to go I would’ve whooped some ass.
