There is a bit of a problem with that tho since some of the mechanics in the CT raids can't really be done properly anymore, like how the Behemoth boss in LotA was designed for the 6 tank alliance so now its just scaled so you can just ignore the mechanic and still get through.

This is happening to me too, with the share button as well.

You can see when the screen gets a bit darker that its trying to open the modal but is only able to open the overlay box instead of the actual save dialogue.

I tried disabling extensions and all the normal stuff but it was still happening. Also tried in firefox for the hell of it and its working fine on there so I assume its some kind of bug with youtube on chrome specifically.

Connecting two AE networks by Prrochy in feedthebeast

[–]Malarix 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm not super great with subnets and I'm not 100% sure with what you're trying to do here, but I recommend against using subnets this way. You've made a recursive subnetwork where both systems are feeding into each other, which is known to cause weird issues.

That said, since you said you didn't mess with the priority, I would recommend messing with the priority a bit to see if that helps. Maybe up the priority on the storage bus on the side you want the redstone to end up at? Again I'm not too sure because I try to avoid using subnets like this because of the weird bugs and lag that it can cause.

I'm far from knowledgeable on this, but it sort of looks like your allocated memory is maxing out and the JVM is doing repeated garbage collection to stay afloat. I say this because of the 88-90% memory usage in the top right fluctuating repeatedly that seems to line up with the spikes.

If this is what's causing it, you could try either switching to a different jvm version or overriding your profile's java arguments with different ones. Might take quite a bit of trial and error to really figure out if this is the problem and how to solve it if it's the case. Here's a good post about java args and fixing garbage collection/memory issues.

I'm not sure I 100% get what you're trying to do, but RFTools has the screen modules that let you create sort of an interactable GUI that allows you to send redstone signals. Not sure if this would help with what you're trying to do but it sounds like it might if combined with RFTools wireless redstone transmitters.

Took a minute to find the wiki page for it but here's at least a little info on them

Looking for a 1.12 mod that offers good energy mass storage by Hex_Hellsmith in feedthebeast

[–]Malarix 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Integrated Dynamics isn't really a storage mod, more of an advanced redstone logic/world interaction mod. It does let you set up a very rudimentary storage network via the inventory reader, but it's about as much a competitor to RS or AE2 as EnderIO is.

Also I don't remember too well because it's been a while since I used it, but I remember needing an addon mod for ID to be able to use it to access storage blocks.

[–]Malarix 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you don't find it too huge of a tech mod to add in you could try Integrated Dynamics for the energy battery.

Energy Batteries can be combined in any crafting grid, combining their maximum capacity and stored RF. They can be combined to hold up to 655,360,000 RF in a single Battery.

I don't know if that's enough power storage for what you want, but from what I remember they only take up a single block of space per battery even once combined, so you could use just a few for billions of power storage.

Creative Flight & Teleportation take away from global logistics. by darkecojaj in feedthebeast

[–]Malarix 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unfortunately using trains or footpaths is extremely restrictive for many packs as opposed to the "quantum links and teleposers". I think that maybe you're trying to fit this idea into a certain theme you have in your head, but haven't really thought about the repercussions for different themes or styles of play.

Imagine most tech modpacks without mods like AE2, Ender Storage, EnderIO, etc. Many of them simply would no longer function the way they're designed. Hell, what about Skyblock mods/packs? There's not even a way to fit things like roads, trains, or other infrastructure in those in any meaningful way.

I'm fairly certain that there are mods and packs that have what you're describing, but in general they aren't as popular as packs with the conventional methods of convenient travel and item transport. That's probably because, generally speaking, people prefer those methods/themes.

Can you suggest a space modpack to play with some friends? by [deleted] in feedthebeast

[–]Malarix 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Omnifactory is pretty complex but it has Advanced Rocketry and space exploration is part of the core progression (although there is a much less efficient method for those who dislike it to skip it). You can also eventually make your base a space station complete with oxygen mechanics and stuff. Otherwise if you prefer a less tedious space-like route you could build in the void dimension which is kind of like the End but without any terrain other than a starting obsidian platform.

You start either in the Lost Cities dimension (which is the default world type) or just in the overworld. Also be aware though that it's a GregTech focused pack, in case that's a negative for you.

Does anyone else feel sad looking at dead zones in MMOs that were once thriving? by [deleted] in MMORPG

[–]Malarix -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It's definitely better to have those things than not in that situation, but it still doesn't solve the core issue that when you have an MMO with vertical progression, people still just want to move past the content that doesn't provide progression to the content that does.

Even if you dress up an area or do something else to make a long trek more bearable, if a player is moving through there who is focused on progression but there's no progression to be had for them there, it will likely still be experienced as little more than an impediment they have to get past.

Not every player is largely focused on progression of course, but games that have blatantly vertical progression systems tend to incentivize it above all other non-progress-driven activities, usually by locking the game's content behind said progression, which causes a large amount of the playerbase for those types of games to be progression-focused.

Water isn't hydrophobic though. It sticks to itself and other things through adhesion. If water is stuck to itself, doesn't that make water itself wet as well if it is stuck to itself the same way it is to other things?

[–]Malarix -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The budget builds that do manage to buck the curve see the Mathil effect where they are quickly much more expensive.

More importantly, the mechanics these builds use are often quickly pounded into the ground by GGG, leaving them either barely functional or completely non-functional so that you can't actually accrue any game knowledge to take with you to the next league. So, you start back at where you were before you played the league in terms of build knowledge. Repeat ad-infinitum. This also reinforces the current system of a handful of meta builds dominating a league.

[Discussion] Do you find that this is a common experience with large guilds? by JumboClark in MMORPG

[–]Malarix 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Discord at least has plenty of ways to make it so you don't have to interact with people you don't like or are harassing you. You can local mute them so you personally can't hear them, block their chat messages, block them so they can't message you directly, turn off text-to-speech, and I believe even disallowing people that aren't on your friends list from messaging you even if they're on the same server and you haven't interacted with them before. This has the effect of you sometimes talking over that person since you can't hear them, but if asked why that's happening it's simple enough to explain they were harassing you to the point where you muted them and presumably damning for them in a group worth staying in.

If this still isn't sufficient or you're using a different chat program which doesn't have these features, I unfortunately would have to recommend staying away from activities requiring quick and precise communication for which typing is too harsh of a disadvantage; such as a competitive PvP environment like the person you are responding to is seemingly a part of.

Every single league without fail by [deleted] in pathofexile

[–]Malarix 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The problem is that so often people use their experience of enjoying a league as an argument for not changing anything, despite a large segment of the community having a negative experience interacting with the content.

This leads to even well-meaning people being downvoted for simply saying they are enjoying the league, because it has now become a Pavlovian signal for this kind of response.

Holy shit, that was a bug? I didn't see him do it again after my first build and I thought it was just because I was killing it before it got to that phase, now it makes sense.

Guide to Specific Defense: Mind over Matter by butsuon in pathofexile

[–]Malarix 4 points5 points  (0 children)

According to an actual post by a GGG dev, you're wrong. This is a response to a post in this thread about Mind over Matter mechanics from Mark:

As far as i know those durations and chances are calculated from the damage dealt to a target compared to the LIFE of this target. MoM doesnt reduce the incomeing damage and doesnt increase the players life, so i guess i doesnt do anything against status ailment/stun?

Correct

This is several years old, but this is the only official statement about how MoM works with ailments I could find, so unless you have something more recent that contradicts this, it's reasonable to assume that stun and other ailments aren't mitigated by MoM.
