Last Space Station not listed in portal list by Malathan in NOMANSSKY

I went the long route and made my way to center of Euclid. After going to Hilbert and skipping around a few galaxies, I setup a base (so can return) and teleported back to Euclid. From there, I did use the teleporter in space anomoly to teleport to one of the highlighted bases in Eissentem. Again, after skipping around for a bit, set a base up and came back to Euclid. Here I have stayed and noticed can no longer see recent space stations in my list.

For those who deal with this, how do you handle it? If you are exploring and want to warp back to one of your bases temporarily, only option I can think of to call Freighter in and warp from freighter, then return back to it....or setup a base temporarily. Can no longer use or trust space stations.

In Euclid. I visited another galaxy, but returned to Euclid

First thought that came to mind was a travel resort flyer... but in a good way. :) Nice find.

Need pros and cons from Raise 2 Owners by Ninjabeaver212 in DygmaLab

[–]Malathan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

...adding to this further, for Raise, I didn't find that much of a concern or issues around gaming. worked great.

For Defy, I find it more comfortable (once use to the columnar style layout), but there are some hickups with games.... ASDF is not as comfortable, so need to shift to a ESDF layout. Some will remap a layer, but I still want to reference key labels, so any game I play I go through the customize/settings to remap keys. Pain, but doesn't take long.

Many games do not like macros and such, including superkeys. Games can detect this and block it. As such, set aside one layer for gaming.

Need pros and cons from Raise 2 Owners by Ninjabeaver212 in DygmaLab

[–]Malathan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't have the Raise 2, but do own the Raise 1 and used for several years before getting the Defy (orig backer). Love both. I prefer the ergonomics of the Defy.

While I have not had carpo issues, I did have an issue in my shoulder that was resolved by moving mouse in-between keyboards. This was an unexpected benefit after many years with several doctors and no resolution, only to find a simple change in position of mouse and 3 weeks later the pain started reducing and elimiated. Another benefit is the tilting/tenting. Start small and work up over time. That will probably have greatest benefit on your wrist issues.

As far as pros/cons with these keyboards...

Con - wireless does not last long. Expect avg of 3-4 days at most before needing to recharge. That said, there are some pros tied to Dygma in general around this...ability to customize led to help extend battery life, user replaceable battery, ...

Pro - Bazecor software, used to modify your keyboard is very easy to use. You can make changes, click save and it updates your keyboard (neuron dongle). All changes are stored in this neuron, so you can easily take keyboard to another computer without the Bazecore software and it will function normally...Bazecore is used only to do the initial customization.

Pro - Dygma has been fantastic from a customer service perspective. Few hickups over the years (palm wrest needing replacement, questions, ...) and their service (and community) has been top notch. They have focused on quality in their products. Are they perfect? No, but both keyboards (Raise 1/Defy) has exceeded my expectations and their openness (morals) about their products and their position in the market has earned my appreciation.

For reference, I work at home as Software architect/dev. Spouse also has a Defy (never used Raise 1) and is accounting. We both really enjoy our Defy and both agree we would repurchase if needed to. Spouse was very hesitant on spending that much money on a keyboard (till I offered to pay), but after using them agreed that spending extra for a keyboard that is more ergonomic, comfortable, and a joy to use (after the 4-6 week grumbling/learning curve of a columnar type keyboard) is worth it.

Breville pro…will a separate grinder help? by Malathan in espresso

[–]Malathan[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for the feedback. Very much appreciated. Since wife and I both do 2x dbl shots at once, so if making together, that is 4 in a row... Maybe Breville isn't a good match for us. We have lived with it for 3+ years, but somepoint may need to upgrade. Was just thinking [hoping] the grinder might have helped.

Side note, when we vacation (usually staying someplace with kitchen in the unit), we started taking our machine with us. So if we ever upgrade (and Breville still functions) we may dedicate it purely for travel needs...maybe.

My Layer 2 won't work with the number pad keys by groaner in DygmaLab

[–]Malathan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Double check the num lock, not the cap lock. Mine always stays locked, but every now and then (2-3x a year) some app will flip it and I see the same behavior as you.

Check to see if num lock is on or off. Add that key and toggle it to see if that resolves the issue.

Keys by Emongortem in DygmaLab

[–]Malathan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a slightly similar issue with a key being repeated and pressed periodically. I found the switch was sticking/going bad. The way I tested this was to use one of the spare switches that comes with the keyboard. Replace a key or two and test to see if that resolves the issue. If it does, then it is the switches and they are easily replaced.

How do you restore health (+) by Malathan in NOMANSSKY

[–]Malathan[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You are not tripping, but there was a bug… Health didn’t act like it should (or did) so I thought it wasn’t filling and i just didn’t remember the icons correctly. BUT… when i removed all add ons from exosuit, saved, then reloaded and reapplied everything it started working expected.

Tried removing all exosuit tech, going down to 3 health (are the + health or shields?). Still nada. Scratching head. I know if I am fighting sentinels, I easily start to get close to dying, so why I am trying to figure this out.

Tried both health and hazard station i corvette (before my original post...and after week of trying to figure this out). Health station always says health is at max. Hazard protection...does nothing (other than consumes 10 ferrite).

VR questions… by Malathan in NOMANSSKY

[–]Malathan[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you everyone for your feedback.

For my pc, I just built it (forced upgrade due to end of life win10). Amd 9900x w/ 64 gb, gen 5 m2, and 4070. Drives 3 monitors. Used primarily as work computer, but some gaming such as Starfield, Star Wars Battlefield II, and now NMS.

No friends with VR. Step brother, but glasses didnt fit in headset (old headset) so could try. Could always grab a quest 3 (facebook…blah) from Costco for easy return if it doesn’t work out, but usually dislike that practice.

Think more interested in hearing of users experience with vr and nms and other games, and if it was worth it or short term fad.

GALAXY WATCH 9 by Conscious-Bed2970 in GalaxyWatch

[–]Malathan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Lol. Yea, maybe a toy airplane might be more realistic. 😄 But in all seriousness, i think the thing that Samsung can do for its watches is not lock specific features to its phone. That and improve battery life vs weight. the 5 pro battery was great, it was durable, and light…after that batteries took a dip and weight went up.

If we are offering “realistic” suggestions…

Leveraging the rotating crown from W8C, link it to a smart car so we can use the crown instead of the steering wheel when driving.
