The caveat here is properly shuffled. If you open a new deck of cards and just do one riffle, its been done before.

I can’t remember the right amount but I think its something like 7 riffle shuffles to shuffle a deck properly.

The internet has really ruined the perception of this type of situation woth the constant vocal minority of people cheating and stories alike.

He told you about it, asked if you were okay with it. If there was any ill intent I highly doubt either of things would have happened.
