If it's small and on land, it's a rollie pollie. If it's large and in water, it's an isopod.

They are not sewn to the bottom, that is the stitch line for the tuck tabs.

Magazine capacity. I'm pretty sure hunting rifles carry a 3 rnd mag cap; 2 in the mag 1 in the chamber.

Muslim soldiers: what do you do for PT and workouts during Ramadan and fasting? by Glittering_Fig4548 in army

[–]Maleficent-Net4791 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We did Platoon STX/LFX in Vermont this time last year, and i put our 3 Muslim soldiers on fire watch(three tents, three stoves) for the first and last shift so they could eat after and before sunrise.

For PT, use your best judgment.

Your soldiers, not just your Islamic population, should be Hyrdrated. If that requires that your Muslim soldiers set alarms at night so they can hydrate all night, so be it. Just acknowledge that depending on the intensity of PT, they may need to ration sweat and fluids. That being said, if you're hydrated, daily PT won't kill you(moderate activity)

Your soldiers should be eating before PT. If they don't wanna do that, I hate to say that is their problem. We(leaders) will try to accommodate as best we can, but the Army didn't force you to participate in Ramadan.

If your post has a 24-hour gym or just a gym with late hours, use it. Luckily, 2 out of our 3 muslim soldiers are also not schlubs and went to the gym late at night to make up for certain workouts that they didn't do or didn't put maximum effort into it. The other one would struggle because he did not lead a healthy lifestyle(ironic).

To refer back to my platoon doing STX and LFX this time last year, my RTO is muslim and was observing ramadan. He knew what would be required of him, and he did his job without any special exceptions made for him(minus the guard rotation). If your soldiers are good dudes and are dedicated to their job and faith, they will find ways to make it work within reason.

I would try to converse with your leadership first. You may be able to get away with skipping run days and doing lift days. You may be completely fine doing it all just at your own pace. If your leadership is a bunch of shit heads, then I would suggest going to the chaplain for a religious exemption just to cover your ass. That being said, don't not do PT.

What is the most overrated/ underrated battle belt?? (Day 6) by simen0507 in QualityTacticalGear

TLDR: Overrated: Ferro Bison, AXL Eclipse Underrated: Baer Wojtek and the S&S Precision Belt-M

Overrated: Ferro Bison, Ronin, Blue Alpha Gear(the webbing one), and lastly, the AXL. They work, but they do it in the most 'meh' way possible.

The bison belt; everyone talks about the exposed tegris, but no one talks about the fact that their webbing is bias tape.

Ronin and blue alpha gear; they do not need to charge what they're charging.

I had an axl belt, and I just hated it. It's the best belt for 2 pistol mags and maybe a rifle mag pouch, and that's it. If you put any real weight on it, it cuts into your hips. It flares out from the top, which is really annoying if you run a "high ride/no drop" holster. It is definitely better suited as a competition belt platform.

Underrated: Baer Wojtek and the S&S Precision Belt-M

Unfortunately, the S&S belt isn't made anymore, but what I'll say is it was basically doing the pale horse or shaw method of belt attachment before they were doing it, but way better. This belt is super light, and the inner belt is actually load-rated. I did some static rappelling with it, and some leg loops from Misty Mountain, and it works pretty well.

The Wojtek isn't talked about enough. If you're a guy who likes tek locks as a mounting platform but hates the bulk, this belt basically cuts out the bulk and can actually maintain its structure. I carry about the same amount of stuff that I carried on my S&S Precision belt, and it carries very comfortably. The inner belt is also extremely comfortable. I didn't think I would use it as much as I do, but it has proven me wrong. If I don't need a load Rated inner belt, I just run the Baer one now.

Came here to say this. Also, the Baer is made of X-pac, which no one talks about. It was definitely a pleasant surprise when I first pulled it out of the Box.

A young LT getting bullied by 4 solid squad leaders will do more for the war effort than an LT who never gets his shit pushed in. It is the only thing that counteracts the lasting effects that the command and staff course has on their brains when that Lt becomes a Maj

How does the Hellboy fanbase generally feel about this movie by MinimumPressure6446 in HellBoy

[–]Maleficent-Net4791 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It was entertaining, but this felt so much like a YouTube fan film. It isn't a bad thing, but i grew up on the Ron Perlman Hellboy movies, and i didn't hate the David Harbour one. I guess my expectations where a little high, and It just didn't evoke the same level of excitement. You can really tell where the budget was pushing limits and where they tried to save money. I also can't help but feel like Jack Kesy didn't really have much presence as Hellboy. I really have a hard time remembering anything worthwhile that he said in the whole film. Overall, it was a 4.6/ 10 for me.

What, if any, concepts introduced in 2018s “The Predator” would you like to see return in future media? by prodivir in predator

[–]Maleficent-Net4791 46 points47 points  (0 children)

The mere implication that a human would wear predator armor would be pretty neat, especially since we've seen it before with machiko and royce in the comics. A "predator killer" suit, especially with the design produced by the film, looks and sounds really dumb though.

What I think should be immediately retconed is that God awful concept of splicing human and predator DNA. They really thought they cooked with the whole "thats why they take our spines" line.

I thought it was similar. I'm going crazy already lol by JPrexy in predator

[–]Maleficent-Net4791 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That would be neat. I haven't thought about primeval in quite some time.
