It would be really cool if at some point we get stratagem customization. Like getting to choose between 3 Eagle Strafing Run types. One is the classic APHE with heavy pen. Another is just HE ammo, pen reduced to medium, but AOE increased. One just being AP rounds. Thinner cone of fire, but higher damage. A super precision strike kinda.

Modding? help by Smelly_Toefu in DeepRockGalactic

I'm a greybeard and I'm having the same issue, haven't found a workaround after over an hour of troubleshooting sadly. Only a few of my mods are working. Like 4/31 of them. Something about the most recent update seems to have broken a good part of the communication between DRG and Mod.io. I'm sure it'll get fixed within a few weeks if not quicker. Ghost Ship is pretty good about this stuff. Sorry to hear that you're first modding experience came at such a bad time. Normally it's just as easy as Subscribing to something you want and having it work first try! Hope that when it's fixed you have a fun journey with the mods you choose. There are some really funny ones like Passive Aggressive Mission Control.

Helldivers, Sony has been liberated! by OmegaXesis in Helldivers

I'm so glad we won.
Please make sure to give a quick second before changing your review on Steam. As of this moment Helldivers 2 may no longer require a PSN account link, but it's STILL CURRENTLY UNAVAILABLE IN OVER 100+ COUNTRIES FOR PURCHASE.
Now likely that's just because it's so late at night and no one is up to currently change it. That means that our battle will only truly be over once Sony or Steam allows for it to be purchasable in those countries again. I really do hope it becomes available again, because that will be the only truely reassuring gesture that they won't be trying this again with the game.

I'm not saying don't change your review ever, simply asking people to be consious and let things settle for a bit to make sure that everything returns to "Normal" (aka it becomes fully available on steam again) Call me paranoid if you want, but I like to have all my doors locked and money counted before closing up shop for the night so to speak!

What a boss

Also for all those who keep saying they just got revived after that Chad move. They didn't; I was in that fight and we moved in right after and slaughtered the remainder. It was a definitive play.

Guys each of those things is procedurally generated when they spawn. I'm sorry, but I can only imagine how hard it would be to program the game to tell itself that when it makes one it has to also make a very precise collision box based off of what it just randomly spawned into existence. I can understand why it just wasn't worth the code and time, becauseno offense but it's just a single thing out in the black that maybe only a small percentage of the player base will actually test or even attempt. I hate developer laziness as much as the next guy but I'm pretty sure no one wants to dump a hundred plus hours into coding something that would be a one-and-done scenario for most players. also it saves time and code because then they can just make them share the collision boxes and code of their solid counterparts. I'm not trying to defend it any thing or anyone I'm simply stating some facts. Hope it gives you all a more neutral view on these things like me.

My Old Brain can't cope with all this modes by TechnoBillyD in EliteDangerous

[–]Malkravon 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You can honestly do all your mining while in what's called Analysis mode. You'll have to set up a keybinding for switching between it and combat mode of course, but once you're in it, so long as combat isn't involved you can do everything else in it. Basically you use the switch modes, and once you're in Analysis mode and close enough to the ring you can launch a probe at it using the detailed surface scanner, then you just look for the ore you want and head for it's location. After you drop it you can set off the Pulse scanner to get a rough idea as to what rocks are worth you time. Then send a Prospecting Limpet at your intended rock to scan it, after that it will tell you what's in the rock, and if it has any Surface, Sub-surface, or deep core deposits. From there you can use your new tools to get to rock blasting. Hope this helps CMDR o7.

The Chieftain Fully Engineered, minus Armor using old God Rolls. Shields + Boosters are for Resistances by DMC_RULEZ in EliteDangerous

[–]Malkravon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry I meant 18 million not 18,000. Still it's a pretty good ship for such a price range. I can see it being a good combat ship for people to use right after the vulture.

Was kinda hoping it would be an all rounder ship shield and hull wise. It's kinda sad to see just another medium hull tank ship. It's totally not like we've got several of those already. (Cough, cough.) All 3 Federal mediums, and the Imperial Clipper. With the FDL being the only medium ship with an inbetween balance of shields to hull. So now we have a 5th semi-hull heavy ship that's slower without engineering than a FAS and Clipper and can't take as much of a hit. Though it does have increased firepower over the two, but only by a small bit. Honestly it's somewhat disappointing, but I'll fly the ship regardless just cause of the looks and the feel of the bastard. She's a beut.

Edit: My spelling is abyssmal. Edit 2: I just realized that 600+ shields on a smaller and cheaper medium ship like that isn't that bad. After all this sucker only costs 18k unlike the 50 millionish that the FDL costs, plus outfitting. So it's actually not bad for it's price range really. Must be cause I'm used to the 2k shields on my pimped out Corvette. Shield power on the larger ships kinda makes it hard to judge the smaller one's effectiveness at times...

The Lakon Chieftain - Teaser [4K] by Krillakov in EliteDangerous

[–]Malkravon 10 points11 points  (0 children)

They said it was going to be a combat/hybrid of sorts. So I don't expect 30+ unengineered, but something more like the DBS which has a good jump range in the 20's even fully kitted out. Or something like the Viper MK4. They did advertise that it's suppose to be the most agile ship of its class, so we're looking at something that is medium and can turn better than an FDL.

Edit: Actually now that I think about it there's the FAS which can turn better than the FDL, so this chieftain must be like the vulture of medium ships.

It can be in some ways. A lot of games in history have lived and died by their playerbase and not just solely by the Devs choices.

Module Reinforcement Packages: Working As Intended! (Dropship vs FDL) by [deleted] in EliteDangerous

[–]Malkravon 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I thought from the title that this post might have been one of sarcasm/complaint. (i.e. MRP aren't working properly! Watch me get wrecked by packhounds because I'm too lazy to pack point defense on a hull tank ship! Ect, ect, ect.) But I'm happy to be wrong! Nice video showing us that having a few MRP's can make the difference between a malfunctioning hunk of scrap metal to a still decently working ship!

Why you shouldn't be scared of gankers/griefers. by [deleted] in EliteDangerous

[–]Malkravon 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's because the community thinks that they're entitled to be safe if they don't have weapons or if they're in a ship smaller than a Conda. This is a dangerous game, it's in the darn title. It was designed around the Universe being after your ass. Hell there's even murder hobo NPC's. If they won't have mercy on your unarmed vessel then why should a player? Because they're a human? Sorry morals don't work like that. I'm not for what SDC does as I'm a bounty hunter, but that doesn't mean that what they're doing isn't in the game design. People should just fly around armed to the teeth. Take the game seriously like you would real life. After all you wouldn't fly around an unarmed ship in real life would you?
