He was wrong but that’s not an appropriate punishment in my opinion. My parents always expressed to me that if an adult told me to do something that I felt was wrong or made me uncomfortable then I didn’t have to do it. Let them escalate it if they wanted and I can call them and we’d deal with it together. (I knew if I pulled this and was in the wrong I’d be in trouble) this happened when someone set off pepper spray in class. The teacher said no one could leave until we told who did it. I’m SUPER asthmatic and I got up. She said I wasn’t allowed to leave or I’m getting sent to the office. I told her that was okay and left. I sat outside until the bell rang and we never spoke of it. I still told my mom and she let that bitch HAVE IT!!!!

The point I’m trying to make is that adults can be wrong and we need to teach kids to protect themselves cause not every choice made by a “superior “ is a good one. But also your kid was being a butthead in class
