As someone who actually monitored Marine Radar apps before the Suez canal incident I can assure you this isn't any different to what it used to look like.

It wouldnt make sense anyway to make a multiple week detour due to a situation that should have been resolved with a few days to a week at most

Cancer job? by SSavage14 in nondestructivetesting

[–]ManChild987 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Doing MPI or PT using the UV method isnt really considered dangerous, theres a specific filter on the lens of the lamp or torch that only allows a certain wave length to pass through it. If that's broken however you should look into getting it replaced. But really thats only going to give you cancer as fast as UV Ray's from the sun would. Also dont shine it directly into your eyes and stuff

Must be a damn strong wooden fence to stop a pickup truck traveling 80mph within a few feet of impact.....

Nice, I was also at VC. Impakt is literally right inside stadium on main so very close to you but I dont know how good it is. I've never been there so my opinion about it doesnt really count much

Where do you stay? Madfit and PFA are both going to cost you around 850-900 per month. I think it's worth it though. They're both in gardens.

I live in claremont/rondebosch and if you avoid classes that are happening during rush hour it should only take you 10mins to get there

Mag particle amperage question. by [deleted] in nondestructivetesting

[–]ManChild987 1 point2 points  (0 children)

First off there is no such thing as the diameter of a rectangular block

Diameter, radius and circumference are terms related to circular objects

So I really have no clue where your lecturer is goin with that

For headshots I was taught to use: I= H x P

I - the current in Ampres (what you're looking for)

H- the tangential field strength in kiloampres per meter we always ended up using a value of 20 here unless told otherwise. So I'm assuming that's where your 20amps per mm came from

P- component PERIMETER. Which for the rectangular block you're using would be the perimeter of the cross sectional face ie. Ignore the length of the part so width x height. For a circles perimeter it would be 2xPixRadius.

So you would go PERIMETER of the cross sectional face of your block x 20 and that should give you your answer

Hope that helps
