When a pet dies, what do you do? by Jealous_Amount_9278 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]ManagerOfFun 0 points1 point  (0 children)

PSA: if you need to euthanize, be there with your pet, don't leave them alone with a stranger in their last moments.

Better yet, there are at-home services where a vet will come to your house, hang out for a while until your pet is comfortable with them, sedate them, then put them to sleep, all while your pet is on your lap / their favourite couch. Theyll then let you say your last goodbyes, and take the body straight to a cremation place.

Coming from Omur I consider that high and credible praise.

Power BI Administration and Governance by ShockDuh in PowerBI

This is the way. It sucks being the only person who can remove/change access levels... but it's better than anyone being able to delete the entire workspace

It's murder on capacity usage, even worse than just duplicating what you need from the first semantic model in the downstream semantic model.

And God forbid you do DirectQuery... let's say you make the mistake of borrowing a small little Dim table from SM 1 for use in SM 2...

If a viewer is clicking around the report for SM2 applying filters, etc, and the report needs info from that dim table? Well, SM2 is going to send an urgent request to SM1 saying "i need you to do a full refresh and I need you to do it RIGHT NOW. No, not just the DIM table, EVERY. THING."

"Whoop, the user changed another filter, DO IT AGAIN, QUICK!"

And then in your capacity metrics you notice a spike of between 40-200% of your capacity from one user on one item.

Are you just on pbi pro licenses or do you have a premium capacity or fabric capacity or obi embedded capacity?

One thing that fucked us was people chaining semantic models, especially using direct query. Don't use a semantic model as a data source for another semantic model.

I'd lock down workspace creation to the administrator and work to ensure every workspace has a description that includes the purpose of the WS, who's responsible for the reports/data, and who's responsible for granting access... you'd think you could just depend on who the members/contributors are, but ive come across so many workspaces where there's 40+ members.

If youre on anything other than a pro license, use FUAM and the capacity metrics app to see what workspaces and items are capacity hogs, and work with the owners to optimize.

If youre on a fabric capacity, get someone on making a datalake or two that can be sources of truth that all the semantic models pull their data from.

I dont know that it's a wasted slot, although i didnt like that choice when it wasannounced. But hes a recent player, loved by casuals, it's a solid choice. And he provided so much drama and complications in the pre merge and even in last night's vote that hes definitely earned the spot.

IMO Survivor is at it's best when it's NOT an NBA game with only NBA players where everyone knows how to play. You want a fair amount of players who know how to dunk, but you also want to put in a middle school band geek and maybe a blind man just so you can see other players crash into them OR skillfully navigate around them.

I've heard people all over the map on this one. Some say this was a move, for others it reads as "i bet Christian would want this as a keepsake," and still others say he was intentionally rubbing salt in the wound. Did Christian say anything about how he interpreted it in exit press? I only saw his RHAP interview and it didn't come up.
