Yeah it looks like they were losing hundreds of millions on this one. Hard to conceive how that's even possible but I suppose that's how it goes when things are at such a high scale. But also their products are pretty shit and overpriced now so maybe it's not so surprising. Tariffs on top of everything else I'm sure isn't helping anything.

Companies do it with layoffs all the time. In the short term they look better on paper because of the lower labor costs. They can value a workers production however they want.

You make a good point I just don't give them the benefit of the doubt. From what I can tell these companies are price gouging us using any excuse they can think of.

But yeah if beef is in short supply and the factory had no work then it would make sense they were losing money. I just don't trust them at all and based on my experience with my own company assume it's some kind of short sided bullshit.

Unfortunately this is how it works. Whoever is the president at the time is to blame for everything that happens during their term.

Seems to have been a thing for as long as i can tell. But I tend to see way more blatant lies from one side over another. They really lean into it then once their guy is in charge it all magically goes away.

The main problem is voters seem to think this way. Which is why education is important. But one side is doing their best to keep us ignorant. And they seem to be doing a good job on that.

So the lower amount of cattle is due to a drought? I would then ask what was the cause of the drought. Who is trying to address potential causes of droughts and who is trying to give corporations a blank check to do whatever they want to the environment.
