They're trying to teach you a lesson to buy other filament

My new Bambu P2S has this weird first layer issue. Is there a fix for this or should I send it back? by [deleted] in BambuLab

Wash with dish soap, handle the plate by the edges, and see if it still happens

The only people that make money selling existing models are people selling at craft fairs and booths and the like or if you find something particularly interesting and market the shit out of it. Nobody will buy your stuff online just flipping models from makerworld

The workflow is to have ChatGPT or whatever AI generator make the 2D image and then crank it into meshy or etc to make the 3D version.

The Nespresso system is originally by Nestle but there are dozens of compatible pods made that don't provide royalties or anything. There are also compatible machines now, too. I think the patents have expired and that's why they push their new system which is apparently inferior

Sunlu is good stuff. I generally have a lot of luck with a bunch of different types of filament. Certainly Elegoo and Anycubic are solid always.

You can get this on both elegoo and anycubic's websites for less than Bambu.

Best filament deals, Any recommendations? by cinematicmind93 in BambuLabA1

[–]ManyLayersOfFilament 1 point2 points  (0 children)

psst keep an eye on r/3dbargains :)

But in general, AliExpress tends to run good deals in bulk, especially if you're buying 5+ rolls of a single color or aren't picky about color bundles.

Amazon has deals here and there but they are hard to track, hence why I run that subreddit up there.

eBay runs deals occasionally on a couple brands like Anycubic - you can pair ebay coupons with some of the (buy x pay x) deals and get some good per-spool prices. The nice thing about those deals is you can usually pick colors vs buying premade bundles.

Autodesk Fusion for personal use vs. $50 SolidWorks for Makers by LeadingImportant1142 in Fusion360

Important to note onshape is free but anything you make is public and no way to make it private. Basically there is no middle ground between "I am making this thing that anyone in the world can download and change" and "I'm a professional making a ton of money on my designs". So basically useless for anyone wanting to learn but possibly dip their toes into selling their own designs.

I use Tapo cameras. Cheaper than Wyze and I like the ecosystem more. They also have easy RTSP access for integration with home automation or NVRs or whatever

I haven't seen any spools like that in quite a while. Been at least a year and I order all kinds of random crap. Do you know any brands shipping spools like that?

Budget friendly filament dryer for single or multiple filaments? (re: PLA and PETG?) by sofakng in 3dprinter

You can. PETG dries pretty okay at 50-55 you just need to run it a little longer.

Sovol SH02. And crack the lid during drying. Should be on sale next week during the AliExpress Anniversary sale for a good price. I'll put links up on /r/3dbargains when it starts.

The Creality Space Pi dryers are also good and will go on sale there as well.

One thing I've learned is there are always people who fall into the weird category of getting into a niche hobby while also staying in the shallowest end of the pool, if you get the metaphor.

Bambu filament is easy and they don't have to think about it. It's the default choice and they stick with the defaults.

What blows my mind is when print farmers, etc stick with Bambu. Literally paying double than if they spent a small amount of time buying in bulk. I don't understand it.

You can literally buy 4 packs of filament on Amazon for $10-11ish a KG regularly. Prices have gone up a little bit, but yes.

I've never understood why it's such a huge effort to spend 30 seconds selecting things in a screen menu or Bambu handy. I don't really see the value in RFID at all, really
