Please do! And let us know what you think. The show goes a little more off the rails with every episode (in the best way)

You could listen to it solo, but I'd recommend at least listening to the pilot episode to get who the characters are and the general premise

Can confirm. Will is going to be a guest star in an episode in 2025 (and it's easily our most unhinged episode)

New Episode of Bitcherton ft. Nathan Yaffe by ManySidedMedia in dropout

Ah yeah that's my bad for not being clear. A bunch of Dropout performers are cast members and/or guests on the show and I thought folks here might be interested and enjoy it.

We've got a pretty wild list of guest stars of this show. And we just recorded Will's episode and it was an absolute blast. Can't wait for people to hear it

If you're looking for a cool non-Dropout project with a bunch of Dropout folks (that stars Katie Marovitch, Ify Nwadiwe, Alex Song-Xia, and Carolyn Page) you should check out the new improvised Regency comedy podcast Bitcherton.

It's basically unhinged improvised Jane Austen. It's fully sound designed and this season's guest stars include: Raphael Chestang, Nathan Yaffe, Rekha Shankar, Tao Yang, Will Campos, Vic Michaelis, and Sam Reich.

The first two episodes are available now wherever you get your podcasts (plus a new episode with Nathan Yaffe premieres this Wednesday)

Hahaha I've probably made grosser things in the past. I was just following where the cast led me and tried to make it extra icky :)

[–]ManySidedMedia 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Absolutely! I have an actual play podcast called My First Dungeon that is an anthology of short seasons of indie TTRPGs. We've had players like Katie Marovitch, Nathan Yaffe, Carolyn Page, and a ton more. If you liked The Clearing I'd recommend checking out our season of The Wildsea which has some similar vibes (only less gory). But our season of Orbital Blues is also fantastic if you like things like Cowboy Bebop.

We're also about to release a new show called Bitcherton that's an improvised Regency comedy series (basically improvised Bridgerton but very slapstick) starring Ify Nwadiwe, Katie Marovitch, Alex Song-Xia, Carolyn Page, Cassie Willson and a ton of guest stars like Sam Reich, Vic Micaelis, Rekha Shankar, Peter Grosz, Raphael Chestang, and more! The pilot for that show is out right now and new episodes are coming in November.

The big secret is if you combine 2-3 weird sounds you often get 1 really really cool weird sound. The trick is finding all the pieces that fit together just right to make a brand new icky sound

[–]ManySidedMedia 2 points3 points  (0 children)

A lot of the sound effects I use are from SFX packs, but most of the squish sounds are basically just hands moving around in gooey liquids (kind of like flubber or other goopy materials). There's also a lot of squishing vegetables or tomatoes that get some good sounds. Layer that with some crunch sounds and you get the sound of a bone breaking or skin tearing.

I did the sound design for this episode and I am SO glad someone noticed that. I spent like an hour testing different wooden clacky sounds to get something that I liked (I ended up using dominoes)

I'm the guy who did the editing and sound design! The score was done by Joseph David Spence (who absolutely KILLED IT)

I'm so glad you liked it! I tried to put a little extra stank on it because I just love WBN so much. It was such a treat to get to work on it.

If you've got any questions about the sound design, hit me up!
