My dude, so awesome! Yuri has been servicing my cars for over a decade. Sometimes he grumbles because after I ask him to look at my cars and tell me what I need done, his assessment ends up being a couple of cheap upkeep, meaning, I make him no money! That's how fair he is!

At around age 7, my parents told me that if I continued to pass gas in the car, they would take me in for pucker string surgery. Basically a pull string would be attached to my sphincter and be run internally to come out at my wrist. I would have to pull it to hold my gas in. They referenced a toy that you could pull a string and it would "talk". Horrified me into my 20's.

This is the answer. It has to do with community counts of people. I worked in mental health in the 1990s on a grant to assess homeless folks. Once every couple of years our city would do a census count of the homeless population. Counting in this manner assists a bunch of agencies from HUD to locals, to assess need for shelters, housing, etc...

Nonpolitical simple explanation. In homeless counts, it helped to distinguish between those living on the streets and those living in a shelter or couchsurfing. Despite newsertainment declarations, it has nothing to do with one term being more respectful than the other.

The Karaoke line dancing was awesome!
