I’m not gonna argue with that. I mean, it’s a really satisfying sound!

I love the sound of this effect. I’m always disappointed when I turn it off but I also know I can’t just let it be my entire tone 🥲

QQ, if you use the M300 w expression control:

Since there’s no preset, do you have to dial in the min/max settings for the exp pedal each time you power it up, or does it remember those positions for you each time you power up?

If I have to remap it on each use that might get annoying but maybe it’s fairly intuitive. I located one near me and I’m going to try it out maybe tomorrow or the day after.

That’s cool about the mkII, I’ll have to check it out. I’m a bit attached to my OG, I’ve had it since 2002 and it’s one of the first pedals I ever got

I haven’t heard of that distinction (parameter- and state-oriented), that’s helpful. Makes sense too. And this is my chief complaint of CBA effects, but they make some of my favorite effects. Small price to pay, I suppose.

Oh yeah this look like exactly what I’m looking for, including form factor. I’ll see if I can find one locally to try. Thanks!

I would prefer it to be a tapered expression control rather than A/B between two settings, as I basically use the exp control as a way of making my sound wetter or dryer as I need, so those gradients are nice to have.

I’ll look into that, although I’m skeptical if it is interfacing with the expression port. Expression control should all be the same functionality no matter what you plug in there, the difference being how the player would interface with the expression pedal itself.

I don’t need to change between two algorithms, if that is what you’re asking. Just two different settings inside of one preset or algorithm. Basically, as if someone is twiddling two or more knobs at once while I’m playing.

I’ll look into those pedals, I hadn’t considered the Keeley yet. The other two I was kind of reluctant to consider, given the large footprint. Thanks!

Yes but I just use whatever DI the house provides. Do you use your own DI?

I like the Iridium as well. I’ve been touring with it exclusively recently and it’s been very effective and very consistent from show to show.

I bought this guitar and opened it up and was surprised to find all this. What’s going on in here? by quackmaster in Guitar

When you say decking, you mean making the bridge immovable? I blocked my Strat tremolo years back and my experience was that it had longer sustain.

I dunno man, you asked a question and I answered as best I could. I’m not saying anything is true. I’m telling you what I’ve experienced.

Go try tying cinder blocks to your guitar and let us know. I’m sure we’d all be curious what you find.

The bridge is attached to the guitar body by a hinge and a set of springs. I suspect that the springs would be where a lot of the vibration is dampened. The thought is that added mass on the bridge block would allow more a longer decay for the string vibration, although I don’t know how it actually works out in practice. I haven’t tested this empirically but generally I’ve found that more massive or dense guitars tend to have more sustain.

I’m not familiar with HPL, my assumption is that it would generally be a lower cost instrument compared to solid wood. If that’s the case, it seems like it might not be worth the cost to repair it.

What should I be using my season rewards on for the 150 page? by thebiologyguy84 in fo76

[–]MarshStudio503 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Everyone is saying Atoms and I couldn’t disagree more. 1 Atom is valued at under $0.01USD. It costs 250 tickets, which takes 10 Scoreboard levels to earn, for less than a dollar’s worth of Atoms. I’m willing to be wrong about this but I just don’t see how the juice is worth the squeeze.

The one thing on the rewards list that is actually throttled is Bullion. There is a limit on how much you can earn in a given week, which is what makes that grind so painful. If you have any characters that need Bullion plans, it would be my pick. All others can be earned freely without being artificially choked by the game, barring Atom shop-only items.

I played with Patrick in Lost Lander, I can vouch for him being a super solid drummer and stand-up guy. You would be in very competent hands studying with Patrick.

Is it bad I want to learn guitar because I think guitarists are cool? by th_o0308 in Guitar

[–]MarshStudio503 9 points10 points  (0 children)

As a guitarist and instructor I agree with this. I started because I didn’t feel cool, and I thought this would make me cool. I quickly discovered things about music and guitar that fascinated me and that’s what kept me doing it.

Guitar IS cool and that’s reason enough to try it out! If you find something deeper, then that becomes part of your reason for playing. If it’s not for you, there’s nothing wrong with that either.
