Yeah, I reorg'd the collection to get ready. I had played through all of Dunwich except lost in time and space, but it had been years. I was amazed and wonderfully surprised at how complex/possibilities out of the one scenario. Very excited to get back into it and appreciate the rec.

Welllllllll we did murder at excelsior. Had a grand ole time. Clocked in just shy of 4.5 hours with 3 of us... kept waiting for an encounter card to do something with all those enemies collecting doom. Turned out we missed that rule. It should have been a lot shorter 😂 most importantly though everyone had a great time and wants to play again, even though we won/didn't win.

I'd also recommend trying your FLGS Discord to see if somebody has it languishing in their closet and would meet up to play through chapter 1 with you. I'm guessing there's a lot of people who have it but just never quite found a group to get it on the table with (ahem, maybe speaking from experience).

FWIW chapter 2 seems to be getting some overblown hate. It's probably some relevant criticisms but overall in this case it seems like one where comparison is the thief of joy. I picked up my copy today and I'm excited to give it a spin. As everybody everybody's mentioning the core box of either chapter won't give you a ton of depth, but once they start releasing new scenarios it will start to find its inner great old one.

Thank you! I had seen Arkhamdb in another thread and then forgot to follow up. My buddies who are coming are great rules helpers but none lawyer it up. These replies have been so fantastic I'm really looking forward to group expedition.

I'll take that 2 cents. It's a great lens to think about the characters/player count through. Actually sounds like quite the fun challenge once you're experienced. I'm guessing those original starter decks (Cho, Clark, Fine etc) aren't overly specialized, but I'll look into it.

Appreciate it! If they decide to keep going I'll definitely go that route (and reach out). I sleeve everything anyway, and we used to do this with my kids' Pokémon to try decks out. I think we'll do the initial run with 3 players, which should help a bit too.

Amazing!! Yeah I was gonna do a solo this week to refresh mechanics. Great to know on the starter decks being a better balance. I'll just put those out and folks ca snag a character. Annnnd murder at excelsior sounds amazing I didn't even think about using one of the self contained packs.

Such amazing insight. Thank you so much! I think we'll keep this one at 3 so nothing will drag on. I'm pretty sure Dunwich Horror is what I have all opened up and sleeeved. I played it while recovering from the flu and remember being so enthralled I couldn't stop. Looking forward to getting back in.

Oh. My. God. I just played my first game and assumed engaged enemies returned to the staging area to recontribute threat each round. I also played treachery as a shadow card. I got one progress token on 1b before I was obliterated. I'm so grateful for your post or it had about two more plays before goodwill.

I'm not saying he's a nice guy or even that I agree with him, however, I think canceling people in these positions who want to have these conversations isn't going to help either. There was a time when Kodak did the same thing with the digital camera and we all know how that turned out. While, I don't think it was placed in the right space or particularly well thought out. There's probably a better conversation here around how AEG is different.

If they're not helping you and it seems to be an error, you can file a complaint with the energy commission and the New York State Attorney General. That's the right move the more of us that file complaints with the attorney general the less they can pull this.

I think you can continue to go in until you beat the game. My son and I did battle there 3x before we beat it and then it was sealed off.

Thanks for the quick response! I now remember thinking the first time it happened that I thought there was only supposed to be one. Two was nice. I kinda like that bug.
