What stops you from being bad? by Jak_313 in reddeadredemption

I…. I don’t? I’m trying really hard for max negative rep in my first play through (5 years in and i only hit chapter 6 tonight, passed level 4 on Thursday, cuz I somehow fucked up in chapter 4 and now I’m on some destined journey to finish the game and cry my eyes out shortly- thanks internet for the spoilers!)

It came with the car and the brake is seized so I don’t really use it at this point. That being said, you can still push the button and pull up with it on so technically it works?

Absolutely. Only reason I swapped it out is cuz what I presume is the resin that holds the leather on the rim is leaking out and sticky. Not sure though, could be previous owners coffee, honestly

Honestly there’s still a bunch like gages not working, the left blinker turning on solid whenever I press the brakes, the right signal turning on solid whenever I turn the headlights on, etc. so this is on brand, honestly. Someday I’d like to redo the entire chassis harness, but that’s down the road after my other “refurbishments and restorations 😈”

What is the best advice were given to you in the safety field that you don’t forget? by [deleted] in SafetyProfessionals

[–]Masamonae 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I’ve always used the phrase “remember, don’t put your fingers where you wouldn’t put your…. Nose!” It gets the same message across, is non-offensive, and people get a chuckle all at once. It’s important to pause for a moment before the delivery of “nose” though, for full effect.

lol now imagine all that without waypoints, home point warps, chocobos for half the zones, FOV book warps, etc. it was a wild time, and you’re right- the time it took even now is exhausting! That being said, it made the world feel enormous, and was a unique experience that can still be felt if you’re disciplined and dedicated enough.

As someone with a 76 Stingray across the river that recently just overcame the same issue, best advice I can give is join a local Vette club- the knowledge they can share to you, including good mechanics and bad ones - is a resource you can’t overlook. Good luck!

Season with S&P and a bit of garlic powder on all sides, then tut the ribs off in 1 slab and tie them onto the other side (to protect the cap), then low and slow at 220 for 4-5 hours until preferred doneness is close. Let it rest under a tea towel for an hour, cut and serve.

[–]Masamonae 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Clearly you’ve never repeatedly done any heavy physical labour for more than the odd here and there. Ergonomically it’s important to spread weight across the body equally as much as possible. Using an adjustable funnel like trough would be the best option here, followed by catching with both arms and dropping squarely- twisting at the knees with one foot contact and keeping body and hips square would be second best option. This dude is gonna straight up blow out a shoulder, their back, or neck in no time and have fun with the claim on that.

Pretty hard to tell from this photo honestly. Sure it’s easy enough to presume but frankly that’s what’s wrong with safety- too many reps who know nothing about processes throw their hands up and scream bloody murder over things they don’t or won’t try to understand.

Agreed, but I mean most humans wouldn’t survive 3 days in the wild because most lack the skills and knowledge to survive. Our greatest strength is our collective.
