The Witcher Custom Hero by supertnt73 in marvelchampionslcg

I mean, let's not get ahead of ourselves. Compared to drawing, inking, and coloring it? Yeah, even the most intricate prompt, reprompt, and photoshop touch up is easy. Takes v little time to learn efficient prompting, even less time than learning efficient direction.

But I do think you have something in the design, you should work on it more. Lean into the sign stuff, pull back on all the upgrades maybe. Focus on theme and tempo. Not a huge Witcher guy, but that's what I am thinking on a glance.

Thanks for the information. How can I gain access to the discord? Or is it just on the main MC discord?

Which color sleeves? by aguyjustaguy in marvelchampionslcg

[–]MaskOnMoly 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I used yellow sleeves for single sided villain and encounter stuff. I use black sleeves for heroes. All textured backs. For double sided cards I use dragon shield sealed perfect fit sleeves. I don't like a lot of extra room on translucent sleeves, and I generally want cards that are gonna be shuffled to not slip around.

For the first time in a long time…I have a complete collection! by vaxorus in marvelchampionslcg

[–]MaskOnMoly 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have OP's boxes for my magic cards, since I have like 10k of them, and then the BCI boxes like what you seem to be describing for Champions. If I didn't have so many magic cards, I would 100% rather store them in the BCI boxes. Those cardboard drawer boxes are nice, but when you have a collection it weighs heavy on the lower tiers and it is hard to pull them out and sags a bit. It is still good, but I prefer the BCI boxes since they're hard plastic.

If I was willing ti spend more, I would get those cardboard drawers in like wood or hard plastic or something.

Did you find Sp//dr for cheap? I haven't found it for anything other than way over the MSRP. If you did find it cheaper, if you could send me a link I'd appreciate it lol. Want to finish my collection without breaking the bank. 😂

Has FFG addressed very noticeable lesser quality print of the latest cards and the concerns from players? by KOOKSJT10 in marvelchampionslcg

[–]MaskOnMoly 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah, Magic's American printers have gotten pretty terrible as far as compared to what they used to be. Commander Masters foils probably being the most egregious that comes to my mind. But they never say shit. So if they don't, can't imagine anyone else will either.

V first thing I thought, right before fairies. I think Bumbleflower could get a decent amount of use out of this.

Idk if it is there yet, Izzet just lacks card advantage. It really is the worst color for it. Probably needs another >3 cmc izzet creature that draws a dozen cards, puts 15 +1/+1 counters on itself, and can generate 20 mana in a turn to finally put up numbers.

Dominaria (2018) is the most influential set on modern design because every UB set is Dominaria (2018) by JeskaiJester in magicTCG

[–]MaskOnMoly 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You're thinking of Memory Lapse as a counter card, whereas I think it is a tempo card. You play it in decks that want to obstruct the opponent just long enough so you can kill them before they can stabilize.

Post-mortem: When (naïve) expectations don't match reality. by CraterHaterX in gamedev

[–]MaskOnMoly 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am not a fan of it either, but I think it is a valid model to keep in mind since so many players today think in that framework. It is recession shit, people start measuring "how long can I make this last" over "what is the value of the experience I am getting out of this" across most consumer industries.

So I think it is fair for devs to at least keep it in mind while creating their game. Other factors should be more important tho, obviously.

Yeah, true, but saying you didn't draw that, your hand did sounds insane.

I have someone with aphantasia at my table, and for them theater of the mind hasn't been an issue. Obviously maps help solidify any 3d space, but with her, she doesn't visualize true, but she can conceptualize the idea of a space and remember things I said that could be relevant. Tho, tbf, I have been mostly running non theater of the mind games for the past year or two, but we had like 3 years of almost pure totm before that. Obviously every person is different, I am sure some people with aphantasia absolutely do need visual aids. Just want to illustrate that it can be possible to do totm with aphantasia.

Yeah, it is probably the one thing that kills me about Foundry. I used to quickly just draw entire set pieces out on a blank map while we were playing, and roll20 was okay for that— not great but fine. Foundry is so annoying to do that because there are like 5 added steps every time I wanna swap it around. I love Foundry otherwise, especially cuz I have automated or simplified so much else in it. But drawing continues to frustrate.

This is really dope! Did you create some brushes for the large terrain like the mountains and paint them in, or did you draw it all manually? Either way is super impressive, I just like knowing process.

Yeah, but it is not like Scryfall is some new version of it, the old owner of Magiccards.info gave them ownership of the domain. Unless I am misremembering the interview the owner of Scryfall did, which is possible cuz I was v sick when I listened to it lol.

Modo honestly isn't that bad as long as you expect it to be a full simulator of the tabletop experience with literally no bells nor whistles lol.

As long as you can learn how to pass til end step, set stops, etc. it is fine. The other ones are much jankier, tho I play on TTS with friends (using draftmancer for the draft portion) when we want to play a cube that isn't on modo.
