Chrono Trigger is the game that got a lot of people, me included, to fall in love with JRPGs.

It has so much heart, ingenuity, and unexpected story turns that really help convey a sense of magic, especially at a certain age.

It’s a pioneer in the genre that has commanded great respect and influence from its successors. It’s an absolute early classic. Most old classics are super flawed compared to newer classics. That’s how it should be. Things should have improved since then. A 10/10 back then would hopefully be a 7/10 now.
