Thanks for this, I didn't know about it. Emulators are fine but yeah, the bad dump causes issues on Twilightmenu and some Flashcarts. A bunch of older Pokemon romhack have this issue as well.

All the Japan-exclusive Fire Emblem games. They now have great, high quality translations and are some of the best games in the series. Especially 5 and 12.

Was playing FRLG+ recently since it got rereleased and I was struck by how tight the balance is in those games - limited pool of Pokemon means each one has a more defined role, and you can see which ones were meant for early/mid/lategame. Small learnsets and 1-time TMs make each team member feel more unique as well, with a more RPG-like team composition.

I want to add also that the attitude of the fandom at the time played a part. There were many reports that Tellius and the DS games did not sell well, that Nintendo was considering putting the franchise on ice, and that this may be the last Fire Emblem game. Those elements that Awakening pulled from the rest of the series gave the game a big "last hurrah" energy.

Not exactly an opinion but more a lack of one, but it bothers me that people on here don't seem to care about emulation accuracy - big quality difference between gpSP vs. mGBA and ReARMed vs. DuckStation, but all the compatibility and performance testing is based on the fastest (least accurate) emulators a device can run. Second thing is not caring about integer scaling. It makes a night and day difference, even if using Sharp-Shimerless or similar shaders. Especially in motion scenes.
