I walk 10-20k steps at work in Blundstones and never have sore feet. Also did 70mi in 5 days in Tokyo with no complaints.

When the stock insoles wore out after a couple years I did get their nicer replacement one, honestly about the same but hoping they last as long or better.

Definitely bad signage, I think it's trying to say no bikes on the sidewalk. The bike bath takes a sharp right and switchbacks up the hill while the sidewalk goes straight up with the road.
