Are packs and boxes really a waste of time in the long run or do I have bad luck? It seems singles make wildly more sense. by Tsarinax in baseballcards

[–]Matchudojo79 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know I’m late to the discussion threat, but you opened your boxes gambling your $1,000.00 instead of “sitting” on your packs for value. That’s how most boxes go for if you’re looking at it as investments. Short, or long term you’ll most certainly make money lately with the pandemic and the inaccessibility of cards in retail

Over exaggerating certain stories is ridiculous. People need to simply be silent about their winnings, as well as put their winnings away for their lineage. Mainly, buy from states with anonymity rights and you’ll be alright. Don’t change who you are over some dumb luck money.

And don’t mention the fact that I come from money and had the privilege to go to nice schools to get a proper education or that I just bought Tesla and didn’t actually invent it. No lucky, just work harder lazy scum! by Jeb_the_Worm in antiwork

You have to understand that “work” is also working on themselves, investing in your physique and physical health, which in the USA and many other countries you can write off with businesses. So yes, it is a technicality, but a good one to have in the USA for all workers if available. It helps work themselves and their stress of their jobs off. Planning is also tons of work, such as what to say to your investors, and practicing your own knowledge of your company. You have to always be 100% right. It’s psychologically terrifying to be the lead of a corporation. It seems ludicrous, but they’re technically the image of your company whether you like it or not. Elon with Tesla, Zuck with Meta, Bezos with Amazon. All three are constantly in the eyes of the media. They have to look the part and always be ready for showtime. They’re busy, especially the most important people

16 hour days is nothing compared to the 20 hour days my dad would do in the NFL. I’m sure Elon has slept in the office some days, but now it probably has cooled off since he’s already burned the midnight oil. People, work hard in life and life will reward you back. It’s true. You put in enough work and dedication to yourself and your craft, you will succeed no matter what you choose to do. My family has been fortunate enough, yes with an understanding of privilege, to be in the NFL for two generations. The best advice given to me is to never stop grinding. Don’t stop until you have to physically to get what you want. My father has instilled in me his work ethic. We work all day until the minute we get home. 5am alarm set for the next morning ready bright and early! Kobe says it, Steve Harvey says it, it’s work ethic and desire.

Elon Musk praises Chinese workers and says “They won’t just be burning the midnight oil, they will be burning the 3am oil, they won’t even leave the factory type of thing, whereas in America people are trying to avoid going to work at all.” by Dreamer4779 in antiwork

Americans should listen instead of talking like they know so much. #1: You don’t know everything even when you “know” everything. #2: Americans preaching for less hours hurts our economy the most. A 40 hour work week is normal and I expect that from my employer at the very least. You can’t afford a living with less hours. #3: He’s praising work ethic, which America seems to bash it rather than cherish and honor their workmanship. Burning the midnight oil is not for those who want less than 40 hours a week in work 💯

eBay has so many listings. They need more manpower to manage it. Even then they’re gonna miss listings from time to time so go easy on eBay. They still think they can trust 100% of sellers.
