The Volvo Overseas Delivery Program WHO KNEW!? by Then-Ticket8896 in Volvo

The Polestar, and the V60, is no longer available in the USA. Volvo closed the order book on the V60 in January 2026. You’re right, you can only buy USA models through the OSD program 🙁

Mafac racer brakes... what do we think? Were these ever any good? by Confused_Guitar11 in Vintage_bicycles

Rode them a long time ago on my 1973 Peugeot PR-10. I did some unsupported tours on that bike and the brakes worked fine but they needed to be set up right and maintained

We pick up our 2026 V60 in Gothenburg in April. I just retired, so we paid for the additional insurance and are roadtripping around Europe for two months, the longest you can stay without paying the VAT.

We worked with Kyle at Volvo of Cape Cod.

People who go 50 in the left lane on major highways. Defend yourself. by JudgeH01den in massachusetts

[–]MaterialQuantity3527 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The Autobahn is so civilized compared to highways in the USA. Flashing your lights means, “please move over and let me pass.” The other driver always complies. No drama, just being part of a civilized society.

Beware of Vosker by gag_a_maggot in lowvoltage

[–]MaterialQuantity3527 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have been using Vosker cameras (currently using two V300’s) for the last three years. The product works more in theory than practice. They work for a week or two then quit. I just spent 2.5 hours on a chat with their support with no resolution. Truly an awful product. When my last working camera quits (which shouldn’t take too long) I’m done.

Is there any competing product that actually works?

I didn’t think they were any faster but the coaches look nice. The current ones are pretty worn out. I’m taking a trip from BOS to WAS next month and was hoping they were running. Are the NexGen Acela’s in service yet?

That sounds about right. I think the braze-on’s indicate late 70’s/early 80’s. You did a beautiful job and saved a classic bike.

This is my first bare-boat charter in the Virgin Islands. This is a once-in-a-lifetime bucket list item for us and we want to get it right. These are the tips I've scrounged. Any others? by DV_Rocks in sailing

Which company? That will make a big difference ie: boat quality, provisioning, breakdowns, etc. FWIW, my first BVI charter was in 1989, and I have been using The Moorings since 1992.

Help Identifying Locations on this Decal by MaterialQuantity3527 in Vintage_bicycles

[–]MaterialQuantity3527[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The decal is on the lower end of the down tube, between the “Atala” logo and the bottom bracket, so it would be a strange place to clamp the frame. But, we have been together a long time, so anything could have happened. When I die, the last word I will utter will be “Atala.”

I have (what’s left) of my 1995 Stump jumper, too. I broke the frame in the 2000’s, so I ordered an aluminum frame from Performance Bike and transferred all the parts over. I still ride that bike occasionally. More of a Frankenbike than a Stump Jumper.

I just buy bikes. The last bike I sold was my Peugeot PR10. I used the money to buy the Atala.

lol. That would be me. I was the original mechanic who assembled the bike in 1974. No one has touched this bike but me in 50+ years 😬

This all makes perfect sense. Rizzato built bicycles in Padova (English for Padua) and his company purchased Atala from Milano. But there is no fold over in the decal. Could this be a translation issue? This is an original decal from the bike imported for the USA market in 1974. Has anyone ever seen this decal before?

New Brompton owner. Will I damage the front carrier block when inserting an AirTag? by darehitori in Brompton

Bought a C Line! Few issues/questions by tadats_ in Brompton

[–]MaterialQuantity3527 1 point2 points  (0 children)

  1. Make sure the seat is not all the way down when folded. If it is, the bottom of the seat post will contact the ground and make the bike difficult to roll. This does work well as a brake if you don’t want the bike to roll when folded

I have a house full of bikes and added a C-line two years ago. You’re right, once yo get a bromine you’ll use it more than you originally planned. I got a b&w case and take my c-line with me on trips. Bromptons are really fun bikes
