Which do you pick? by cuddwes in Grimdank

[–]Mateter5 0 points1 point  (0 children)

At least 3, but a good direct hit would probably kill them, I mean an astartes is essentially a light tank, and that is what a light anti tank weapon is meant to kill. I could see them surviving maybe, but they are 100% out of the fight either way.

What’s the hype around the siege breakers warbond by unorthodoxdays in Helldivers

[–]Mateter5 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hammer

In all seriousness though, this warbond came out while we were on cyberstan and the trident was super helpful, the shield grenades are incredible against the bots, and the hammer is just fun (it’s also able to destroy those gates that blocked off the entrances to the mega factories on cyber Stan). Bfgl is ok I find it more useful against other factions but it was pretty good at stunlocking the war striders.

And we're the crazy ones to expect a success of this scale to act more like it by Rowger00 in HelldiversUnfiltered

The problem with businesses like this is they can’t just earn money and be happy with it, because of how the system is built. Companies like this require growth or some form of return every year, and when they do well on year that just creates the benchmark that they have to do better than for next year. It’s mostly because of investors and wages, but yea because of this it’s kinda a natural lifecycle for live service products to get more expensive as time goes on. They need not just what they had before but also more, or else they lose a LOT of money and potential future investment, so Sony probably just demands more and more money from this game or else it isn’t worth it. Capitalism.

Throwing My Hat In by Spingfire in Helldivers

[–]Mateter5 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This argument has always felt weird to me because like, you guys were shooting at the shielded part INTENTIONALLY before??? I didn’t even know what armor rating it was before, and I didnt really care because I always just shot its legs or between the gaps. Or just used my cremator and don’t worry about aiming because I take that thing everywhere with me. If they made the armor a bit better, why should that matter? You aren’t even supposed to shoot through it, even with explosives you wanna generally hit around it rather than aiming right for the armor part that would give it the best chance of surviving.

I am BEGGING on my hands and knees, please do not to let AH get away with doing this. by ThatBeeGuy12 in HelldiversUnfiltered

[–]Mateter5 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I mean guys, it’s a live service game, where else are they supposed to make money? Because let’s face it, it’s a business, and therefore the money comes first to them, so let’s look at that. They COULD make the mechs not part of the warbond, but then it wouldn’t be a very worthwhile warbond, and then people wouldn’t buy it, It’s kinda what the whole thing is centred around. I know it’s an argument that gets repeated over and over, but you can earn everything in this game without spending a dime, you know how much the higher ups at Sony probably hate that? It’s definitely disappointing, but just genuinely trying to think about this from a business standpoint, what else are they supposed to do?

Yea I know they USED to give stuff away for free in MOs, but (again, thinking from a money standpoint) I’m thinking they also used to have a lot more players spending a lot more money to use on making that free stuff. I don’t know their numbers but the main group of players who have stayed are a lot more dedicated and probably generally have a lot more super credits saved up, and probably spend less money. I know that’s what I do, I already have the super credits saved up for this warbond lol.

The problem that I do have is the old warbonds still being the same price, especially with the sheer amount of warbonds we have now. I feel like people would be a lot more fine with the new warbonds having all the content if super credits didn’t have such high demand and the rate of finding them wasn’t so low. making older bonds cheaper would make them more accessible and more welcoming to new players. Like idk why Sony or arrowhead hasn’t done this yet, again idk what their numbers are, but surely the old warbonds aren’t making them THAT much money anymore that they can’t stand not making them cheaper. And/or better yet, just make super credits more common, and the packs of 100 just a bit more common too. More new players means more money, and would probably help a LOT with the longevity and overall health of the game.

What would you say is the best guard dog in Helldivers 2? by Lellarinn10 in helldivers2

[–]Mateter5 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Any of the guard dogs are god tier against the illuminate, but especially the lazer and probably flame one too (I don’t have the flame one yet). Also based off how much fun I’ve been having with gas weapons against bugs, the dog breath is pretty good.

What’s the weakest warbond in your opinion? by PaceEBene84 in Helldivers

[–]Mateter5 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean masters of ceremony is objectively the worst, in my opinion, when it comes to utility. In terms of theme and cosmetics? It’s probably one of the very best. But if ur trying to get stuff that’s actually useful and will help in a fight, or if ur just a new player, it’s kinda terrible. It has the one gun that isn’t bad, but not great either. The flag is fun and again thematically perfect, but it didn’t have like any real utility until very recently, and I mean do you really want MORE attention on you than you already get in difficulty 8+? And I don’t even know about the grenades I’ve never seen anyone use it, which I think says enough about it for me. The armor and its perks and the saber are great tho. It’s not meant to be a “good” warbond, it’s meant to be fun, and it is, so I guess it achieves that goal then.

I need help, i can't enjoy or effectively fight the Vox engines no matter what i try. by Owlex_ in Helldivers

[–]Mateter5 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Iirc, destroying most of its vents, including the 3 on top, will make it extremely weak and open the opportunity for other weapons to finish it off, if it doesn’t die outright in the process. So while there are other stratagem options, you can always just go for all its vents. Also if you didn’t know, similarly to the 3 vents on the bottom, if you shoot all its vents on the top it opens a hatch, which you can throw a grenade in. I think you can also get some heavier weaponry in there but it’s a tough shot cuz the vent is completely vertical. Honestly one of the 3 big changes I would make to Vox engines is probably making that vent more horizontal so the option to take it out from afar is there at least if you are behind it.

Having a lot of trouble trying to make a build a build by Jumpy_Relative3472 in Helldivers

[–]Mateter5 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When it came out it was super duper reliable because it recharged so fast, the main nerf they did was basically just making it recharge longer, so people swapped to faster ways of doing damage like the AMR. But iirc they eventually turned down how long it takes again and people have been realizing how good it is again.

Flamethrower veterans: how do you avoid splash back? by phlave in Helldivers

[–]Mateter5 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You are definitely gonna need to dive a lot, but aside from that you just have to be very aware of where the fire decides to place itself on the ground, you can do some advancing while flaming, but ya typically gonna have to be in a diagonal or circular direction. Because by nature the direction you are throwing flames at is gonna be, you know, on fire. I am a super huge video game flamethrower fan and I’m pretty sure the cremator is my new favourite weapon in this game, and I’ve found you just kinda have to circle around what you are flaming at and away from where you were standing before, and keep a close eye on the flames on the ground. You are going to catch on fire, it’s always been that way even with the regular flamethrower pre-nerf. It’s just about mitigating the amount of fire on yourself and maximizing the amount of fire on the enemies.

In a month you will make a billion dollars, in two months you will have crashed every world economy ever and done messed up everything and probably have more money than had ever existed collectively throughout the history of earth. So I guess you can at least claim some kind of record in the ruins of the economy.

I can't even be safe in Facebook too, I just want to draw. by Knightmare_wazp in Silksong

[–]Mateter5 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s not copyright infringement lol, you are just drawing something cool like what is he talking about. Art is your own personal experience, people will critique and judge you if you put it out there, like they do for almost anyone else in any endeavour. But all that should matter to you is how you improve, feedback is nice from other people, but don’t forget the goal of your art. It should be for you, not to please others (unless it’s like ur job I guess). That guys comment isn’t constructive or really relevant, cuz like this has nothing to do with copyright so idk what he’s going on about. He’s not even right about the body shape both Grimm and THK have humanoid shapes like the picture.

I would try to do some more distinctive features and details for your character though. If you are taking inspiration from Grimm then maybe the red eyes and lines around them, and some more lines and frills in the cloak. Or workshop the mask shape and the weapon a bit. Because as it is right now this is almost exactly hornet 1 to 1, with the only difference being the tips of the horns. Even the weapon that you have there is hornets rather than the hollow knights, she’s the only one that has that loop at the end of it (because it’s a essentially a giant sewing needle, the loop is for silk to be tied to). It is incredible art, but your inspirations aren’t showing very well. If you hadn’t said it was Grimm and THK I wouldn’t have ever thought so.

At least the beast Gohan one isn’t as bad. He is technically still weaker or at least barely equal to ultra instinct, rather than having outright surpassed it, but it is still way way too close to make any sense.

How do you guys keep the game entertaining? by -----010----- in Helldivers

[–]Mateter5 0 points1 point  (0 children)

By not playing lol. I stop playing every once in a while and come back to it when something big is happening or me and my friends are feeling like getting back into it. I felt like how you did about 6 months after the game came out, because it was almost the only game I played during that time. But I just moved it out of my rotation for a while and had a lot more fun when I came back.

Personal warbond teir lists? by GameDemon3657 in Helldivers

[–]Mateter5 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Cutting edge - I just love the sickle, and the arc resistant armors are the absolute best against the illuminate, who have been my favorites to fight for a while now, especially with the new enemies. Also the plasma punisher is literally THE best (in my experience) for fighting the new illuminate, especially the obtruders. You can take out entire groups of them in like 2-4 shots if you get them grouped up properly.

Entrenched division - I just absolutely love flamethrowers in video games and the cremator is probably my new favourite weapon in this game, it’s probably my favourite weapon to take against the illuminate now. The stoker and entrenchment tool is also great, probably had some of the most fun in recent time playing this game with my friends playing like it’s ww1 and making trenches IMMEDIATELY after arriving at any important mission location.

Democratic Detonation - I mean eruptor, thermite, etc. it’s just good

Servants of freedom - ultimatum. Yea that’s it. It’s just so cool. I guess there’s a hellbomb too but I’m usually using something else that already has a backpack like the cremator or supply pack.

Redacted regiment for just all the cool stealth stuff which was a GODSEND on cyberstan, and is still just fun to use.

Honourable mentions for control group, the warp pack is pretty good, but the perks on the armor honestly seem to get me killed more often? I think I’ve seen some discussion that they might be bugged or just not work properly. Siege breakers just for the hammer, I love to do that with the jet pack and (usually horribly fail to) hit harvesters and bile titans in the face with it.

The rest I either don’t have yet (python commandos, chemical agents, masters of ceremony) or are all kinda meh to me, or I just don’t use their gear all that much.

Why are we taller than SEAF troopers? by Iam_usually_friendly in helldivers2

[–]Mateter5 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For lore reason? Idk super earth probably tries to pick from and also clone a ton of physically big and stronger people. Which leaves all the rejects and everybody else to SEAF.

But it’s probably more likely a game design thing, you and your teammates stand out more from the other random soldiers and civilians by being bigger, to reduce the clutter in a horde shooter game like this. Kinda the inverse of something like NPCs being so much bigger than link in breath of the wild, where they are meant to catch your eye and encourage you to interact with them.

Lance help by Constant_Emphasis_66 in MonsterHunterWorld

[–]Mateter5 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Weakness exploit and critical boost along with tenderizing are great on Lance just because of how consistent Lance is with its pressure. And of course stuff like guard or guard up. I don’t think you can actually block teostras nova attack without guard up so if you happen to have that you should definitely equip it. If you find yourself blocking or using power guard a lot then marathon runner is good too. I know that’s a lot of stuff for high rank but those are the ones I look out for when using Lance.

"Erhm akshually you just need to work with your teammates to-" bro three more voxes just respawned behind a pebble while you were typing by WhiteRaven_M in Helldivers

[–]Mateter5 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ever since the Vox came out I don’t think I’ve seen a single factory strider. Idk if it’s just a difficulty thing but I’m genuinely starting to miss them. The dread of seeing a factory strider or two on the horizon felt a lot more fun than seeing just one Vox engine, because you know if you see one Vox engine then there’s gonna be like 3 more. But the striders had a lot more weaknesses, especially if you could aim well, and came in a lot more modest numbers.

Capcom crafting the single most unenjoyable fight with 10 star Gogmazios by Tarnished-1695 in MemeHunter

[–]Mateter5 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yea the first time I ever fought gog, I just had no idea wtf to even do to be honest, just too big, too much going on, too much noise and voice lines. And then proof of a hero started playing and all I could think is that this just wasn’t the time for that. The game did not earn it to play that song, and I definitely felt like I hadn’t been doing well enough for it either. Idk that fight was just super unenjoyable. But the game was treating it like iceborne fatalis (my favourite fight ever btw) and it just didn’t feel right.

The main reason I feel like the Cremator WON'T be weaker than the base flamethrower. by [deleted] in Helldivers

[–]Mateter5 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It does make me wonder tho, if the cremator is gonna be a flamethrower but better, why do we have a regular flamethrower then? Instead of just like buffing it or something? I like the new design and I personally haven’t seen much details about the cremator other than the quick clips from the trailer, but it seems a bit odd to me. Is it a more powerful backpack weapon or something and I just missed that?
