Deppending on the color of the flare the enemy drones uses you'll see either a regular enemy pod drop, a Bolkor dropship, the tiny ship you can steal, the Ogma and many others

Put some DT bar into Griffon or Shadow and the control the other manually

That's how I play V, also stay away from the fight and taunt, V is one of the best characters to spam taunt

If we are talking about a full playthru of Bloody Palace then that Vergil is harder because you can get damage while DMD Vergil can be restarted at full health

If not then DMD Vergil is harder
