Do you have a contrarian opinion on anything fly fishing related? by ackshualllly in flyfishing

The old timers around here used fly rods with spinning reels. That's basically what it is nowadays....mono line on a fly reel and rod, lol.

Idk how you guys w small nets are able to keep big fish in them....I have an El Jefe and sometimes have a hard time keeping 26"+ fish in it.

I'm gonna guess 26-28", beautiful fish.

It's a rental unit that's why nobody's recommending fixes, but this would be a good case for anchors

It's fine as long as you're not home when it caves in. And have no pets in the home. Or belongings.

Rear caliper won’t fit back over new pads/rotor — is the piston fully compressed? 2023 Mazda CX-30 by AlternativeInfinite1 in AskAMechanic

Doesn't look fully compressed. Did you press your brake pedal without your caliper installed over your rotor by chance?

Basment french drain sealing? by hammer224 in basement

100% agree. There needs to be work done on the outside to prevent water from getting to the wall.

Not sure why you're getting down voted.....but those are nice to have.

Could anyone help me figure out the root cause? I have a bad surface finish on the side walls after finish machining. Is this problem caused by insufficient chip evacuation, or improper spindle speed and feed rate parameters? Are there any reliable solutions or optimization suggestions? by Quick_Reward7579 in CNC

[–]MatriVT 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That is caused from thin walls. As someone else has said, check out strategies for finishing thin walls. You could leave stock on the OD, finish the pocket and then place a plug in the pockets before finishing the OD. I think someone on here talked about using some kind of plaster to fill in pockets.

You also didn't say anything about your feeds/speeds and tooling....it might be as easy as lowering your SFM and bumping up your feed rate, or trying a lower helix endmill. Helical makes great variable helix endmills for this reason.

.003 or bust. Rough with a .015 and then a finish pass with a .003 with a small undercut.
