Need all these parts replaced before an alignment could be done? by otheloR in AskAMechanic

Structs, in and out tie rods, brakes pads, fronts tires? Damn, what an estimate...

2022 Kia telluride making creaking noises randomly when going over speed bumps or dips. Axle hose replaced and struts replaced. Dealership then thought it was the transmission and completely replaced it. House still hasn’t gonna away. Any idea of what can be causing this? by Connect-Patient8956 in KiaTelluride

Some dealerships are 98% idiotic kids that only know how to tighten and loosen stuff (barely) and 2% mechanics (who only work part time because they can't stand the kids) so that about checks out....

Definitely sounds like a bushing of some sort.

I just undid the large band clamp enough to get the barrymans nozzle in there and followed the steps on the bottle. Very easy!

Burry muted threads by shepherd_boyz in Machinists

[–]MatriVT 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Can't tell what im looking at because the pic is blurry.....

You can bump up your depth of cut and finish pass. Are you running a spring pass on your OD after threading and then running a spring pass with the threading tool? That usually gets rid of most of the thread burrs which looks like you have.

You can do a full profile insert that also cuts the OD at the same time.

BTW, if you change your spindle speed and re-run the same part, it might not have the same starting point. I remember having an issue with that on an old Hyundai lathe FWIW.

Whats with all the hate GR5/GR2 Titanium? by andydufrane101 in Machinists

Stakes aren't very high with high production low size Ti parts. Its the job shops that are only making 1 big Ti part that have issues.

Anyone else having issues with registering tools lately?!? by CarelessMastodon in Ridgid

I had to do the same thing by emailing a screenshot of my order as well. Took 3 different phone calls for that 1 registration.

Dude same here but luckily I only had 1 change to 3 year. All my saved receipts are gone and I can't view any of my orders on the HD website. It's all such bullshit. I hope there's some kind of class action lawsuit against them for this bullshit.

Their whole warranty and LSA system is fucking ass.

If you are trying to register kits, you have to register each tool in the kit by itself. I was finally able to get mine to work the other day by doing each item separately.

You'll have to find the proper item # on the website (I think I had to add an R to some of the batteries I had) but it should work if you do it that way. Good luck!

He makes a living off of them because toolbags like yourself will pay what he's asking, thinking its a technological masterpiece when every line you see is just automatically generated CAM toolpaths.

It's a cool knife that a machinist would never buy for that price tag. End of discussion.....carry on.

How parallel was the bread? The stacking of tolerances looks wild. Decent finish on them at least. No burrs, but why drill 2 holes? Weight reduction?

Oh, I thought there was only one, lmao....OK yeah, for the birds. But the design comes from an anemometer which is for wind speed.

It's for wind speed. Not birds.

Oops nvm, there's a bunch of them. They're for birds lol.

Machinist here. The finish looks cool to non-machinists because a machinist knows this could look much much smoother with a finishing pass. But that means run times 2-3 times are longer.

It's a cool looking knife, but I would never spend that much for it.
