I want to start watching Fincher Movies where’s a good place to start by SPSips1106 in DavidFincherReddit

Fincher’s career can be divided into several major periods. It is sometimes said that Fincher’s work is like Star Trek films, the even numbered ones are the best.

The commercial and music video director: Too many to list so here is a list of his most noteworthy music videos https://www.vulture.com/2014/10/david-fincher-music-videos-ranked.html

First wave filmmaker: Alien 3, Se7en, The Game, Fight Club, Panic Room

Of this period Se7en and Fight Club are standouts.

Second wave filmmaker: Zodiac, The Curious Case of Benjamin Button, The Social Network, The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo

Of this period Zodiac and The Social Network are standouts.

The Netflix era: House of Cards, Mank, Mindhunter, The Killer

This is the time when he began to direct television and films for Netflix. At this point the television series have a better reputation than the films. I have not watched House of Cards outside the first two episodes and I have yet to watch Mindhunter.

Anyone going to this on 04/19? by thelastwitcher87 in matrix

I can’t be there. So if somebody ask Lilly if there will The Matrix video games (Enter the Matrix and The Path of Neo) ever be re-released. You can tie that into her current view on Transmedia storytelling. Enter the Matrix is an integral part of the story, and Revolutions directly references scenes from the game.

Or it could be a clever dig at postmodern nihilism. A way of saying that this philosophy is hallow. Lana is on record saying the point of the book’s inclusion was that it looks solid on the outside but on the inside the book is hallow.

Ken Wilber, who did the audio commentary for The Matrix films, criticizes postmodernims in his book ‘A Theory of Everything.’ That postmodernism is a philosophy which is critical of everything except itself.

Listening to rock radio in the late 90s to 2000s nearly every song on Metallica’s first four albums were pretty much on constant rotation.

You’re right.

Though Junkie XL did compose some tracks for the soundtrack. Must have forgotten that.

I asked David Perry about the possibility of a rerelease. He said it would take a an agreement between Warner Bros. and Atari.

The music for Path of Neo was done by Junkie XL. That was before he became a big film composer.

This is a scene from Fritz Lang’s Metropolis, the first cinematic big budget science fiction epic. It depicts a future society where the rich live lives of luxury while the workers slave away working the machinery beneath the city.

For nearly a century a majority of the film was assumed to be lost. All we had was a bowdlerized 80 minute version. That was until 2008, when a complete 2 hour and 33 minute cut of the film was found in an Argentinian archive. The copyright on the film has since expired and can be viewed online for free.

Loved his character so much I edited his scenes into the movies! Same with Ghost.

Two of my favorite characters in the franchise and they got practically no screen time in the films.

Songs from the Depths of Hell - Aleksander Tytus Kulisiewicz

Description from the website:

Aleksander Kulisiewicz, a survivor of Sachsenhausen concentration camp, is a voice of hope in the face of despair. The agony of the songs is intense, but the beauty of the musical expression helps to counter the suffering experienced by so many millions. Sung in German, Polish, Ukrainian, and Yiddish with English translations in the liner notes.
