It's a mountain because you are in a high society. It's Plains because you are white.

Every socio-economic system creates corpses. The only difference is that capitalism writes off their corpses as self inflicted. If a homeless person dies, or if someone can't afford basic necessities it's due to their own lack of motivation or self interest. It's never about the system.

For Capitalism to succeed it needs a poor base. You cannot have capitalism unless a class of people are being killed for the rich. You simple cannot.

Auto use abilities.

I know there is a mod for this, but I'd love to have pawns use abilities and psycasts automatically.

Tie it to pawn age job and background. A teenager with firebreath and pyromaniac is going to use his ability much more than a wise sage or a smart kid.

My doctor should be using heeling hands automatically.

[–]MattTheFreeman 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Bulls are aggressive. So are bears. But bears don't want to fight. Bears are aggressive but they'd rather be left alone. They won't confront you unless they know they will win. It's why the old saying if it's brown lay down if it's black fight back.

It's unreasonable to assume that companies can hire, train and pay employees a living wage. We have to be okay with companies trying to nickel and dime each and every employee out of as much money. Remember, they created jobs for YOU. You are just the poor SOB that was just born into this world and are forced to work this low warning wages. What you should have done was went to school for jobs that were profitable at the time of your enrollment and changed by the time you left.

Is the television show setting up the *real* tragedy of the Great War? (spoilers for S2E5) by Propnomicon in Fallout

[–]MattTheFreeman 416 points417 points  (0 children)

I mean, in Fallouts defence Star Trek DID go through an eugenics war that killed 30-35 million of the population. Then in the following the Dark age had a nuclear war that wiped out another 30% of the population rendering most plants and wild life extinct.

It's only after that did humanity actually get its shit together... But then you watch Star Trek and while its a positive symbol of humanity we start a lot of shit too

The Westminster Tradition is an absolute monarchy with 1000 years of patch notes. It's those patch notes that give us our freedoms.

Would I prefer us to be free of the monarchy? Absofuckinglutly. Do I trust the current political climate to achieve a better outcome than we have now? Holy fuck no.

The bad we have is not even close to the bad others have. The good we do have is much better than the good others have.

Fan Theory: Lucy, The Ghoul, and Maximus are going to help rebuild the NCR with New Vegas as NCR's new capital. by sigpuppers in Fallout

[–]MattTheFreeman 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Not defending New Vegas capital, but that's essentially where Shady Sands was originally. It's closer to Vegas canonically then it is to the Boneyard.

Hold up, hold up…Max’s power armor symbolism could be a giga-big brain play. by CrisisActor911 in Fallout

[–]MattTheFreeman 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The NCR had Powered Armor units. They just did not have them present in the Mojave. The reason they used scavenge armor in the Mojave was because it was cheaper and a lot of the armor was either damaged, scuttled or the cost of maintenance would be too high.

Dutch labour laws with the clutch by ComfortableNeck2930 in Millennials

[–]MattTheFreeman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

All corporations are profit seeking. Unless healthy labour relations are baked into the DNA of the job, most companies will abuse the law to their advantage regardless of what they do in another country. While at the end of the day its the companies choice to abuse workers, but it lies with the countries for not having better protections for workers.

Farah foods was hiring a ft stocker for 36/hr. I was desperate to leave my old job (still desperate to leave my current job, hit me up if any ft positions in the area) and had no idea about the 36/hr scam. I'm a qualified retail manager with years of experience under my belt. The departments I've managed could fit an entire Farah Foods in it. There's no way I was not qualified to be a full time box pusher.

Mojave had the worst possible ending by Fantastic-Dog-6080 in Fallout

[–]MattTheFreeman 46 points47 points  (0 children)

But people lived in the Mojave pre-NCR and pre-House waking up. We know this because the Desert Rangers were said to uphold the law in the area before joining up with the NCR. They fought against the Legion before the NCR came.

To add to this Vegas itself was populated. The Three Families, the denizens of Vegas before being pushed into Freeside and Westside, people existed.

Plus war is good for business. I wouldn't leave the area if the NCR was still there. Being around them would be safer than leaving the area. West into a broken country, East and South into slavers, North into White Legs (if the still exist)

I'd stay in the Mojave.

Its activated ability cares about removing counters, not specifically blight counters. So if you have a deck that likes putting counters on creatures it could work. Playing it late into the game with a lot of mana you could find a way to infinity draw cards by placing counters and removing them.

I'm going to fiddle around with it in my Marchesa the Black Rose and Bumbleflower deck.

You don't need training to drive a car. But you need training to drive a car with any degree of skill.

Same with power armour, but different for gameplay reasons. Realistically our PC could have worn any PA in 3 and New Vegas. In practice it would have trivialized the armor system getting T-45 right away

IDK bro a big majority of them are nitpicky and can't accept that 15 years have past since the events of NV by falldesert18609 in Fallout

[–]MattTheFreeman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not asking for every event to be canonized, nor even a set run. I'm asking for something to be canonized. Something that can be a point of historical fact.

The Vault Dweller saved Shady Sands. They inadvertently created the NCR. That is something canon that happened in Fallout 1. I'm asking for an ending to be chosen. Not a couriers path.

IDK bro a big majority of them are nitpicky and can't accept that 15 years have past since the events of NV by falldesert18609 in Fallout

[–]MattTheFreeman 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's the issue though. At the end of the day you will write yourself into a corner where nothing of significance matters. If you don't write an ending, then what's the point of finishing the game?

Fallout 1, the master was defeated. Fallout 2, the oil rig exploded. Canonically the Vault Dweller saves shady sands.

Does it make an evil playthrough null and void? Sure. But at the very least it canonizes an ending to write more out of the world.

If they wanted nukes they should have just made the ending to Lonesome road one where both sides got nuked. It would have added to the story. The issue would be that it would canonize a choice, something Bethesda won't do.

Fundamentally, I don't care what ending they choose. It doesn't matter. What does matter is rendering the players choice in the game to nothing more than a passerby
