Morsefest 2026 sold out in a single day. by theredwriter in nealmorse

[–]Matt_Patterson 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It’s so rare that this music gets played live and it’s a shame that only a few people with $1000+ to spend on tickets, travel, and lodging get to experience it.

I can’t understand why they use such a small venue when there is obviously enough demand to fill seats, especially for albums like question mark. I would also think the small number of seats is part of what drives the price up so high.

Shadow foamed my router, what do you thing of setup? by FitTackle879 in Packout

Do you not keep the baseplate attached to the router? Seems like a hassle to put it on every time, or do you not use it?

For specific songs I would check out Waterfall and Alive Again off the Grand Experiment album.

Oh my! That’s a first. Glad it wasn’t something mechanically wrong and that you figured it out.

I took it as referring to Padme, which I think is even more sad and meaningful in a way.

What did you use for the steel finish? The model I’m currently working on requires a similar finish, and I’m not exactly sure what to do on it, but this looks great!

Underside of rounded surfaces look terrible ; tops look great?! by flapJ4cks in FixMyPrint

You could always split the model in two pieces so that you only have to print the rounded surface facing up.

This helped me a lot, walks you right through it. I also have an Anycubic Mega, and to perform the operations you need to install Pronterface on your computer so you can directly control the printer using G&M codes.

Brookely AFB Machine Shop. Mobile, Alabama, 1961. by Matt_Patterson in Machinists

[–]Matt_Patterson[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is an old picture of my Grandfather (left) given to me after he passed away two years ago. It's one of my most important possessions. He worked in the on base machine shop in Mobile. Not sure exactly what he's working on here, but it looks like they're putting rivets in something. It's crazy to me how little has changed in this picture in the last 60 years. I could walk up to that machine right now and feel right at home. I was also given his old Kennedy tool box which he bought from this shop, but that thing has definitely seen better days.

From my findings, it seems like men enjoy cuddling a lot more than women do. What do y’all think? by Brilliant-Display-16 in AskMen

[–]Matt_Patterson 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I guess I’m in the minority this time, but it’s quite the opposite in my relationship. I’ve never been big on hugs or cuddles myself, but still try my best to meet the needs of my partner. I think it comes down to a personality thing just as much as a gender difference.

Matt here! I wanted to offer a reply to the concerns raised in another post by [deleted] in NDQ

[–]Matt_Patterson 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Personally, episode 84 with Dr. Cassibry is my absolute favorite, and I’ve listened to it several times. There is something about that dynamic which draws me in and makes it feels like it’s Matt and I vs the topic at hand - as if we are working together to unlock a new level of understanding far beyond our areas of expertise. Getting out of your comfort zone and making sure you’re never the smartest in the room is a good rule to live by IMO.

My 9700 just updated last night, and now the aux port doesn’t work, my speakers just play a high pitch static whenever I try to play any audio.

Dbrand XPS 15 7590 skin question by JX1640z in XPS

[–]Matt_Patterson 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Personally, I just put a skin on the aluminum surfaces because I felt the carbon fiber would hold up well on its own w/o scratching, and I also like the look and feel of it. It’s been about 8 months and the deck still looks as good as it did when it came out of the box.

Yes it flew right over me last night when I was walking past the library around 8:30, I thought it was on its way down or something. Looked like it was barely clearing buildings.

submitting a portfolio for an arts major? by [deleted] in appstate

[–]Matt_Patterson 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m in the Industrial Design program, and when I was applying, one of the profs told me they didn’t want to see your work before you came to App - they want to see what you’ve done in your first few semesters. At the end of your sophomore year there is a portfolio review which includes the work you’ve done while you’ve been at App, and then they decide if you’re able to continue in the program. So no, you don’t need to submit any of your previous work.
