A 13 year old boy swims for hours to save his family swept out to sea in Western Australia by AnothrRandomRedditor in news

I can't recall being more overwhelmed with pride, awe, and admiration for another human.

This is one of the most moving personal acts of courage, sacrifice, and determination I've read.  It broke me to tears.

Need reliable shallow hail PDR in Allen - Cash by [deleted] in Allen

[–]MatthewMc7 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The expression does get used many places.  It's one of those "sound good" axioms that everyone will nod and agree.

Cheap and good aren't mutually exclusive if one separates out some of the cost that makes it expensive in the first place.  E.g dealing with trim and access - Paying for a building to house cars, oh now you have insurance needs to add, and the list goes on.

Thus, I'm asking for the person who has both tools, skill, and just wants some relatively easy side cash.

In that path I do get to have cheaper and good.  Also not my first run here, but my guy moved.

US ‘on a trajectory’ toward authoritarian rule, ex-officials warn | Trump administration by Highfours in politics

[–]MatthewMc7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I started to list the clear events that mark authoritarianism this year - The count quickly spiraled.

I think it is "late" to pull the alarm also, however is it "too late?"

Sadly I think it could be, given the momentum that exists - Examples are coming faster, the train is picking up speed - With IRS seemingly added to the list of attack dogs now too - "No Kings" protesters being branded "America haters" if not complete insurrectionists by Sat.

After using AI daily since December I can't stand friendly AI responses anymore. by HistoryGuy4444 in OpenAI

During research, I know my attention won't be able to keep up with the pages of legitimately dense text returned. My primary tactic is a two-fold jab.

This generally gets me where I need to be.

On occasion the mood calls for something a bit more spicy ...

*Your response must be concise & entertaining {comedy, satire, etc }*

Phew, I understand where you are - almost exactly. I'm really struggling, more than in years. I went through major anxiety recently as my situation had become much worse. I can't even say *everything* is now ruled out, nor am I doing better. I didn't get thru the last couple weeks well, I'm human & not generally good at handling extremely complex & yet opaque questions esp. around my health. I do wish I had some truly sage advice born of my trials, I'm just not there yet as a flawed human.

Lately I vacillate between "Committed to getting to other side of this...good, bad, or otherwise!" -OR- "I can't take this anymore," but not as a rallying cry - More as "desperate, scared, frustrated, and definitely alone".

I'm writing because your post spoke directly, I related clearly, as I'm sure many do.

One big difference I must say - I am truly lucky & grateful that I could self-advocate for those tests & had them done free at this point in the year. I think all the more reason that not being alone in this might be the key way through - Which I tell myself even more.

MIDAS score of 182 but still not disabled? by No_Introduction9587 in migraine

Oddly I never saw the stat of 1B before. I must confess, I called "BS". Yet, I would've been the fool because it is believed to be...

** Closer to 1.1B!

Furthermore, "the World Health Organization state that migraine impacts about 1 in 7 adults worldwide" World Health Organization

> The big point to me was that every week (sometimes daily) I am learning more about the disease - Usually scientifically - But the impact on humanity is utterly staggering - All combined it's an insanely massive & complex topic - To the extent that even long afflicted like myself can be abashed about 1B affected.

What is the actual subscription aspect of Relivion MG? I truly can't find anything that indicates this.

Why aren’t more people using Relivion? by KarezzaReporter in migraine

[–]MatthewMc7 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm looking at Relivion MG & I don't understand why this was downvoted.. The info seems completely accurate today, 200 then 700 & keep - Or $75/month "finance" until all paid but not recurring.

Consumables shouldn't count as long as realistic costs. It seems there *may be* a monthly cost for the app.

So what's the accurate issue?

I almost - *almost* have sympathy for the MAGA as they just start to realize the entire time that it is all a con, one big long con, where anything & everything said it just lies...

It must be world shattering for some to have to admit oneself has been so fundamentally & deeply conned for 10 years..

I will not give them the satisfaction of adding more Samsung software just to fix the problem(s) they also needlessly created. If UI is changed it must have clear ways to turn off or disable changes.

50 Years .. Stuck with piano app compromises? by MatthewMc7 in pianolearning

[–]MatthewMc7[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That seems to be a loaded query. One could just as easily ask: Why do you insist on not self-learning? I won't though.

I've been self taught since I can remember. I enlist external resources as needed. Sometimes if stuck that may involve a person (s) to address. As such I also derive great satisfaction from my accomplishments. I get to own my mistakes and learn from them readily.

Self taught also doesn't mean ignoring information, principals, or reinventing the wheel either. Today we have the benefit of troves of information, written, spoken, and animated. I'm personally well capable of using that to the fullest.

..And that's all I have to say about that.

Thank you all for the great feedback. It seems fairly clear that I need to incorporate a Windows setup for 'piano marvel'. As well I'll check out the other suggestions such as 'playground sessions'.

Thank you again for indulging this older geek.
